Wonderful place to use as a base for touring Tuscany. Not far from major cities and roads. On top of a mountain peak (575 m a.s.l.), so chilly even in summer evenings. Tastefully adopted old farm buildings, with a lot of attention to detail. Even a nice collection of books on art. Spectacular open pool, shared with other guests. We've seen some wild animals (rabbits and foxes).
The location is in the wilderness, so there are many insects. Especially unpleasant hornets and horse flies around the pool. Mosquitos are not a big problem, though. There are no shops or other facilities in the vicinity, except for one very good restaurant.
