I liked the location of the hotel in the village, the pool looked nice but was cold and the parking arrangements for motorbikes under cover was excellent.
Didn't like the bar set up in reception, why couldn't we pay at the bar - had to turn round and pay the seated receptionist while they were dealing with guests? a lot of us were over in the second block away from the main hotel, across muddy paths and up three flights of stairs to get to a sparse but clean room. We were only given one menu each night and after the first offering I cancelled and fended for myself at much better local outlets offering choice.

The location (splendid views around the town) and the gardens were beautiful. The food was all locally sourced and prepared to a very high standard.

great location and pool
we arrived at the hotel to find the restaurant was fully booked (very unhappy as hotel had not said the restaurant was busy and we WERE guests!). it was very hot, that’s not the hotels fault but there were no fans available. We had to call maintenance (who responded promptly) as the shower was constantly very hot and we wanted to cool down. It was fixed quickly. It wasn’t a good stay for us, we were hot after a long motorcycle ride, disappointed we had to go out to find dinner, and the facilities were not to our expectation. A few small changes to this hotel would make significant improvements.
