Our stay at Strofilia was one of the highlights of our time in Zakynthos, and that’s entirely down to the incredible hospitality of Athina and Teo. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so genuinely welcome – greeting us with a bottle of their delicious homemade wine and making sure we had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, nothing was ever too much trouble. Their recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try were so helpful, we ended up experiencing so many wonderful local gems on the island thanks to them. The accommodation itself was rustic, charming, and full of character, with a lovely view over the gardens and out towards the sea. The pool area is incredibly relaxing after a day out at the beach. Plus there is a beautiful fig tree which guests can help themselves to. Highly recommend this accommodation for an authentic stay in the best location in Zakynthos!

The only small downsides were that the pillows weren’t very comfortable for me personally, and, as the rooms are in an older building, the bathrooms are quite traditional with no overhead shower, just a handheld one at waist height. This worked fine for me, but it was a bit less practical for my taller partner. These were minor and didn’t impact our stay in a negative way at all.

Vackra vyer runtomkring, fin pool och en liten men otroligt fin strand med glasklart vatten nedanför boendet!

Lovely corner of a more remote part of the island although not as quiet as one might think. Hosts are very welcoming and extremely helpful. Accommodation is beautifully designed, thoughtfully equipped and spotlessly clean. The site is stunning and the little neighbouring cove is very pretty. There are a few restaurants in walking distance and a great snack bar directly opposite. This is a great spot for relaxing. The hosts are very warm and attentive. Cooking facilities make whipping up a quick dinner very easy. I stayed here without a car opting for a taxi transfer. Taxi prices are somewhat high so frequent journeys might prove tricky. I was happy walking around for a few days.

The road outside can be somewhat busy at times and the neighbouring cove can get busy with visitors coming and going (and who can look into the property with curiosity) - however the excellent location means that one can get to the sea first thing before it gets busy. This is outside the catchment area for organised tours but a little asking-nicely does help.
