Strofilia Stone Residences

Our stay was simply perfect. The property is beautiful, very well maintained, and the air-conditioned room was spotless and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped if you prefer to cook at home. The stunning beach with its crystal-clear water is only a two-minute walk away and, even during the high season, it never felt overcrowded. Teo and Athina are exceptionally warm, attentive, and helpful hosts. They were always available with great recommendations and arranged restaurants and boat trips for us – every single suggestion turned out to be excellent. We especially appreciated their thoughtful gesture of treating us to a bottle of rosé wine and their homemade olive oil. Thank you for a wonderful holiday – we would love to come back!

There was nothing we didn’t like. We would recommend renting a car, as many restaurants, shops, and other places are much easier to reach by car.

Wir kamen sehr früh auf der Insel an, und konnten bereits am späten Vormittag das Appartment beziehen. Teo hat uns persönlich begrüßt und uns alles gezeigt. Er und Athina sind jederzeit verfügbar, wenn man Fragen hat, Lokaltipps braucht, oder man eine Bootsfahrt machen möchte. Das Appartment ist großzügig, mit eigener Terrasse gleich beim Pool. Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet, um sich auch mal selbst zu versorgen. Alle zwei Tage kommt ein Team, um das Appartment zu reinigen und um die Handtücher zu tauschen bzw. die Bettwäsche zu wechseln. Die Außenanlage ist wunderbar gepflegt, und wir waren meist allein beim Pool. Beim Meer ist man in wenigen Minuten (Vathi Lagadi Beach). Parkplatz für ein Auto ist vorhanden. Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier auf alle Fälle richtig. Keine 100 Meter vom Haus entfernt gibt es ein Lokal, wo man sehr gut frühstücken und auch (Abend)essen kann. Weitere Lokale sind ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt, zum Supermarkt dauerts mit dem Auto 5 Minuten. Ein Mietauto ist auf alle Fälle empfehlenswert, um die Insel zu erkundigen. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen zum Appartment hat ca. 40 Minuten gedauert.

Der Kühlschrank könnte etwas besser kühlen.

Tolle Lage mit schönen kleinem Strand fußläufig erreichbar. Die besten Gastgeber immer bemüht um einen den besten Urlaub zu ermöglichen!

Our stay at Strofilia was one of the highlights of our time in Zakynthos, and that’s entirely down to the incredible hospitality of Athina and Teo. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so genuinely welcome – greeting us with a bottle of their delicious homemade wine and making sure we had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, nothing was ever too much trouble. Their recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try were so helpful, we ended up experiencing so many wonderful local gems on the island thanks to them. The accommodation itself was rustic, charming, and full of character, with a lovely view over the gardens and out towards the sea. The pool area is incredibly relaxing after a day out at the beach. Plus there is a beautiful fig tree which guests can help themselves to. Highly recommend this accommodation for an authentic stay in the best location in Zakynthos!

The only small downsides were that the pillows weren’t very comfortable for me personally, and, as the rooms are in an older building, the bathrooms are quite traditional with no overhead shower, just a handheld one at waist height. This worked fine for me, but it was a bit less practical for my taller partner. These were minor and didn’t impact our stay in a negative way at all.
