Maehaad Bay Resort - SHA Plus

We chose this hotel as it has a really long pool for swimming, and it didn’t disappoint in terms of size - it’s 45 meters long for lengths. The pool however does need a little bit ofmaintenance. The breakfast was very varied and the whole family enjoyed it, the omelette guy was pro, good value for money. Many of the restaurant staff were very kind and helpful. The same with the reception staff who were very welcoming. We stayed in a pool Villa which was comfortable and spacious. We loved the outdoor shower. The housekeeping staff were great. The area is quite remote and there are a few restaurants within walking distance, some better than others and tops daily for supplies. The beach was close and had beautiful picturesque sunsets, and the sand bank was interesting to walk. We saw lots of people snorkelling and the water was very calm when we visited. The grounds were well looked after, lots of beautiful plants surrounding the hotel paths. I think the pool villas were situated very well for access to the pool and the restaurant for breakfast. We stayed there as a family of 4 and the staff were very helpful in setting up the extra bed we needed.

While the pool was great for swimming, it could do with some maintenance. Some tiles and light fittings are loose and the grout needs re-doing, making it quite sharp, both our children ended up with grazes from the tiles. It didn’t put them off swimming but it is a little tired.

Position is great if you like a beach where you can do snorkeling…great spot with fantastic corals formations and some fish. Village rounding quite small but there’s still a decent choice of restaurants a part the hotel one that is quite good. Room are spacious, modern and quite clean. Hotel facilities are good with 2 swimming pools a small gym.

I was so impressed with the staff and how helpful they were. The food was so good, and the beach was beautiful. I felt safe and secure. The breakfast was changed up every day, and the omelets were the best.

It was a distance to walk to the beach and breakfast, but not bad. I really had little to complain about. I felt like anything that came up the staff quickly resolved any issues.
