Only 1 thin pillow per guest and on request told no others available, leading to difficulty sleeping and increased pain of existing injury. Sadly this made a massive difference to the comfort of our stay. This is a lovely old country inn but our room definitely was very tired and needed attention. Note extremely steep stairs to access rooms. Only one bedside light and table. Room not particularly clean. Bathroom cleanliness not acceptable. If these issues were addressed I feel this is a lovely place to stay at a fair price. We will need to visit this area regularly and sadly would not wish to return as it is.

Sleepless due to extremely noisy ice machine.

The bar food and breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff Compact but adequate room Lovely to be staying by the river and lovely views.

I was woken at 3am by what sounded like a generator. The noise was intermittent all night, everytime i started to go back to sleeo it started sgain.. I spoke to the young lady who was cleaning and making/serving breakfast and we realised it was the ice making machine, situated under our room. I left a message for someone to contact me but a month later and I never recieved a call back. A shame as it is a lovely location.

Little Gem

Really friendly, welcoming staff and owner. Good atmospheric in the bar and a great riverside location. The food is excellent, cooked and presented perfectly

Although the room was basic and clean as expected, a little TLC is required to mould around the windows and shower room sealant. That said, it was still great value for money

Great value for money, had tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The room was boiling hot, we had both windows open all night with fan on full all night.. wasn't sure why it was so hot. We stayed when it was only 16 degrees outside, wouldn't like to stay in the peak of summer.

Our TV constantly lost signal making everything impossible to watch. Thought I was getting 2 slices of toast (ordered rack of toast stating 2 slices) but I only received 1. Toilet outlet pipe and skirting boards covered with thick dust.

All staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was very good. Location by a river has excellent views with outside decking

View from room was disappointing in that it looked out on waste land as opposed to the river view on other aspects of the building. Pub was very noisy, but noise didn't disturb the room

The staff did their best. Breakfast was good.

The room was very basic. TV Remote did not work. Moved to another room Not particularly clean in the shower room. Could not fill the kettle due to the tiny hand basin and very low tap. Had to use a cup to fill the kettle. It was hot weather, Noise from the main road during the night. A standing fan was supplied but no power point available to plug it in. One power point clearly not in good condition as it made a bang when kettle switched on. Very steep stairs to access the rooms. Not suitable for anyone with mobility needs.

Very clean, lovely quiet location by the river and close to the family we was visiting

The staircase was steep......ask for rooms 6+ for a wider stairs (my 70 yr old dad struggled). The beds where very narrow (my dad's not the slimmest)

Overall a nice stay ♥️

I loved the atmosphere of the bar & the service was brilliant. We were offered help to take our luggage to the rooms.

The only disadvantage was how steep the steps were to the rooms, we booked this room for my mother in law & nan & we did have to provide a lot of help to get them to their room with their bags because it was a tripping hazard & couple potentially be dangerous if someone has been drinking at the bar.

The staff were fantastic!! Very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean. Being above a pub it was a bit noisy until late in the evening. Also at 2am this morning someone was making a lot of noise near my room. The location is beautiful, stayed 1 night as running the Boston marathon.

I liked the location but that is a personal preference due to my family living near by. The bed was comfortable and it was clean.

What a lovely hotel to stay in! Staff were lovely, very helpful. The bedroom was a good size with twin beds which were amazingly comfortable. The evening meal was very nice and great value for money. Overall this is a great place to stay and pretty central to a lot of amenities. Highly recommend

Great accommodation and perfect location

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights as we were going to an event nearby. On the day we were coming I phoned when we were an hour away to ask if we could check in early which they said was no problem. Arrived at half 11 and a nice friendly guy came out to meet us and checked us into our room. The room had everything you needed. The bed was comfy, the shower was great, perfect temperature. They do meals there but I never got round to trying as I wasn’t there long enough but it smelled lovely and there was lots of people there for meals so it must be good. It was a great location, easy to find and you can sit right by the river too, perfect.
