This island is pure magic! Our ferry could not take us due to bad weather so we had to stay the night. We stayed here, an old mansion turned into a hotel. Is was charming, cozy and romantic! We explored the area and one of the owners gave us a tour of the premises, recommendations of places to visit and told us about mastica! Excellent stay!

Historic property compound in historic Kampos area was a good place to relax and explore eastern Chios. Unique setting amongst Genoan colonial stone buildings and citrus orchards. Loved walking the neighborhood in early morning. The property was nicely restored and maintained, with wonderful courtyard amongst the orange grove to enjoy breakfast and evenings. One bedroom suite was very large and well appointed with high beam ceilings. Owner provided good information about the area.
Although very close to a main road, the roads in/out of Kampos are very narrow and a bit tricky to navigate at night. There are no restaurants (at least none we could find) within reasonable walking distance, so car or taxi are required. The airport landing approach is amusingly close, which makes for good entertainment, but thankfully there are few flights and none during sleeping hours.
