Las Gaviotas Condo-Hotel La Paz BCS

I can't say enough good things about Hector, the manager. I had to call the hotel b/c I accidentally booked too short of a stay and I couldn't correct this online without moving rooms. He fixed my mistake and even upgraded the room. He gave us recommendations on excursions and restaurants, showed us where the market was and booked a trip to Espiritu Santo for us at a great price. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Omygosh, he also let us check out late after Viva moved our flight. The other employees were also really friendly. Lucy at housekeeping does a fantastic job! This isn't a 5 star resort but you won't find that in town in La Paz anywhere. If you want a safe, comfortable, spacious place to stay a block off the malecon where it's nice & quiet, this is the place. Great views from the balcony and it's close to everything. Secure parking under the bldg with garage doors - not chains. There's an outdoor kitchen area by the pool with a grill, fridge, etc.

I've read complaints about dated rooms, but for this category of hotel I'd give it a 5/5.

The property was clean, well kept, had an amazing staff and beautiful views.

The only possible complaint is the condo we stayed in was a bit dated. But it was clean and well kept - so it wasn’t a problem .

Las camas están super cómodas, las habitaciones muy amplias, el personal que nos atendió cuando llegamos ella fue muy atenta y amigable, y todos los de la recepción muy amigables. La habitación estaba muy espaciosa, y súper limpia.

Que en el anuncio de booking dice que la piscina está climatizada, pero no lo estaba.

This property is close to the maleacon and walking distance to lots of good restaurants. It does have a nice balcony with view of the ocean where we enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. We met one of the owners, Linda, at one time and she was very friendly with recommendations about adventures.

As reported by reviewers everything is really old and outdated and fatigued and dirty in appearance: the curtains, the upholstery , paint etc. It's a shame really because it's such a potentially awesome place. The place appeared deserted I think we were the only ones staying there. The owners live on the top floor but nothing is regularly staffed. You can ring for someone to come help you. We had to change our plans because of the coronavirus and they said they would refund us our last night. SO far it has not happened.... I'm hoping they do as we have left now.
