Loved the room we stayed in, it was so unique its big opening patio door, and tall half circle roof were stunning. The bed was very comfortable and the marble bathroom had a glass roof and you could see the stars at night. The rooms were encircled by the star shaped fort, the courtyard was paved and grassed with tables scattered around to sit at, it felt quiet and very peaceful. Breakfast was served in the lower breakfast room if it rained and on the roof patio when the sun was out. Breakfast was self-served so, the choice was yours and it had an excellent array of food to eat. We had beautiful views of the white sand beach and the river whilst eating breakfast. The have a lovely pool and sun loungers on the upper part of the forte which is totally private for sun bathers. The fort is surrounded by olive trees and parking was on one side of the castle. It was a nice walk to the village for your evening meal, where many restaurants and shops were open in the evening. The board walk was a lovely evening stroll. There is just so much to see here that you will return again. We loved the very old wooden double door as you arrived at the fort.

Exiting the forte in the daytime or evening was via a metal gate set into the main wooden gate, my husband found it a little difficult as it was only about 4 foot tall and he was 6 feet tall. Most people who were shorter would have little difficultly.

Beautiful historical property, well renovated to accomodate a small number of rooms, great location, easy to walk into Cabanas village for dinner and only a short boat ride (5 mins) to a stunning beach.

a little difficult to find (and not signposted), but the property do send good directions after booking to help with this.
