I knew nothing of Menton before going there. I’m so glad I did. Hotel Gabriel was lovely. When I arrived tired from a long train journey, I was met by the delightful staff , and their smiles. They continued to be unfailingly nice, helpful and bright every day at all times of the day. In a genuine way, not just professional.
supremely comfortable bed and bedding, clean room, nice bathroom, in a lovely coloured and pretty room. It was great.

Clean, comfortable, great location, staff were exceptional. The refills of the water was a great bonus. Breakfast was very good. Best place we have stayed in Menton so far and really good value for money.

I have never been to a hotel with staff so friendly and caring of your every need. They go the extra mile for everything in this hotel, and great you every morning and evening with a smile on their face. Their staff and manager, who kindly gave us a lift to the station also, are a testament to independent hotels done well. The room was equipped with everything you could possibly need, the bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous, and the balconies for nearly every room with perfect views of the mountains and surrounding belle époque and art nouveau buildings. If you need a hair dryer, extra towels, coffee machine, tv, fridge, safe, views, friendly staff, recommendations and a truly personal hotel experience that makes you feel valued then please stay here! And if you are learning French then they will make sure to be patient. I hope to return many times in future as I find myself in the most postcard perfect city that is Menton, la perle de la France. Potentially some herbal/fruit tea options in the room for those of us who don’t like caffeine. But we always had tea and coffee restocked!
