Norden Ruder Hostel Taitung

Beautiful environment with all the plants, it does not feel like a hostel! We got a double room which is at the end of the corridor so no problem with noise once indoors, you wake up to the birds! Common areas are very pretty and clean. It is an open building so if it rains you can hear and feel the heat of the rain while sitting in the chilling area. Room was comfortable and clean. Loved the flipflops, super comfy. Great value for price! We also washed clothes, very easy 40TD to wash and 50TD to dry. You can take a bus from the station that leaves you 2min from the hostel. It is next to the beach, you need to walk a bit for nice coffees but it is doable, streets are nice. You can also rent a bike which helps to move around.

Nothing much, couple of personal things: hand soap would be nice to have. I would also recommend a smaller sofa in the double room for more space as it is not really of use. If you don't dry your clothes it is hard to have them dry in the room as there is not much space to hang them. There is only trash in the kitchen or in your room. Maybe one other trash per floor would be nice!

We were unfortunate that there were loud guests partying in the common space and you can hear the noise very loud from your room due to the echo in the hostel. Thankfully the quiet times start at 10pm.

Very nice clean, modern setting. Lovely communal kitchen.

Expensive for Taiwan and the size of the room with a small window.

Aesthetic, love the calming touches (books, empty notebooks to write on)
