We loved our stay at Jasmine Cottage. It was so relaxing. The cottage is really comfortable and well-appointed indoors, and having a downstairs bedroom is really handy, though we spent nearly all our time outdoors as the weather was lovely and the garden and facilities were wonderful. There is lots of choice for seating in sun and in shade, and the pool was the perfect spot to cool down. The area is very quiet and although there are plenty of places to explore locally we were having such a good time we only left the cottage to pick up supplies and to enjoy Chinon Market (very nice produce!). Thank you Nigel & Sandra for your hospitality and friendliness - we hope to see you again

A three night stay to break our journey back to Roscoff and lovely to relax here. Unfortunately due to weather (it was October!) we couldn't sit outside which looks a lovely space. Hopefully we will be back in better weather.

Lovely property with a beautiful, enclosed garden which was throughly enjoyed by our two dogs. Sandra and Nigel were excellent hosts, very welcoming and really helpful, Sandra even booked the vets for us for our return paperwork! xxx

We stayed for two weeks in this beautiful house. If you are really looking for a quiet location where the birds are the only sound you hear, then this is the best place to be. The very old house has been wonderfully converted by Nigel into a beautiful place to stay. You have a huge garden at your disposal where you can always find a place to rest or be active from morning to night. Nigel and Sandra, as owners and neighbors, keep a modest background but are ready to help you if you ask for it. From this location it is great to walk between the sunflowers or go by car into the area to beautiful cities such as Tours, Poitiers, Richelieu, La Rochelle and other places. The area you cross offers beautiful views and nice villages.

We had a fabulous time staying at Jasmine Cottage. The location is very rural - exactly what we wanted for peace, quiet and switching off from the outside world.
We would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing, stress free holiday in a beautiful location. Our 15 year old found the pace slow, but there was plenty to do in the surrounding area if you like to visit markets, chateaux, historical buildings etc. We went to Futuroscope. We would NOT recommend it. We spent the entire day queuing and the experiences lasted only one or two minutes each. Don't waste your money!
The grounds of Jasmine Cottage are beautifully maintained by the owners and they were on hand if we needed anything. We had a lovely evening with the owners who couldn't have been more helpful if they had tried. Perfect company. The cottage is lovely and had everything we needed.
A fantastic holiday, so thank you to Nigel and Sandra. We'll be coming back!

A quirky property full of character that we enjoyed staying at. Excellent communication with hosts Nigel and his wife. Excellent outside areas to sit and catch the sun or shade at any point in the day and the pool was a welcome relief when the temperatures rose. Richelieu is not to be missed nor either is Mont-sur-Guesnes. We certainly enjoyed the tranquility of the area and would return if we were to come to the area again.

Stunning property, such a huge garden, the pictures don’t do it justice! So much space, the pool and hot tub are fab and it was great to have a few BBQs and make use of the pizza oven. The cottage is beautiful and quaint and stays nice and cool in the heat. Beautiful rural area and close to amenities and not far from Chinon. Would highly recommend!

The cottage is quaint in superb grounds. It has all the facilities that we needed, however it is a little disjointed in terms of one bedroom being away from the centre.
The host was brilliant & helped us when needed.

Finally a real vacation!
A magnificent house, typical of the region, very caring hosts. A huge garden full of surprises, a beautiful swimming pool and sun, sun, sun
It is possible to visit many tourist places nearby, and also to enjoy local specialties: Chinon wines and goat cheeses. We really had a wonderful week

Very comfortable property set in lovely and peaceful private garden with stunning views. Very convenient for chateaux visits but equally enjoyable for relaxing.

We spent two weeks at this property as a family of three, and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Great garden, lovely property, with lots of charm and numerous seating areas to enjoy. It's in a lovely rural and peaceful area, with great views and so little light pollution that you get great night time views of the stars.
The hosts, Nigel and Sandra were very friendly and helpful, and we spent a really enjoyable evening with them over some drinks and food - thanks again!
The gite is ideal for two couples or in our case one teenage child, but anyone with young children might struggle with the bedrooms. It's worth mentioning that the newer one isn't linked internally with the rest of the gite.
Definitely recommend!!

Peaceful and relaxing getaway
What a lovely house, lovely hot tub, lovely views - peaceful and unobtrusive hosts. Nigel and Sandra certainly have made a lovely getaway - great for us as a couple but also for families - surrounded by fruit trees (Delicious apples but figs out of season) and unspoilt views of the french countryside. Bikes available - we were kindly loaned the electric ones - which meant we could go off exploring on dry quiet roads and buy daily bread and croissants from nearby village of Guesnes. It is how ever, quite remote so need car to go to larger towns of Saumur, Chinon and Richelieu - which were all great for sightseeing and eating. The Green Path from Richelieu to chinon was great for walking (old railway) and very quiet. A wonderful relaxing week. Definitely worth a visit

Brilliant cottage in quiet countryside, within easy reach of charming towns and villages
Well we found a little bit of paradise. The setting was perfect, quiet, charming, relaxing, an excellent way to wind down. The hosts Nigel and Sandra were so welcoming and had gone the extra mile to ensure we had all we needed. The facilities at Jasmine cottage are first class from various garden games-badminton,darts,boules,croquet and bikes plus plunge pool nestled between the lavender bushes and fig trees and a bubbly hot tub.The surrounding area of Richelieu, very pretty with a beautiful parkland to wander round.Would recommend a trip to Samaur also. Thank you Nigel and Sandra for your kind hospitality on the thursday night,i do hope we can return to your lovely Jasmine Cottage in the near future.

Wonderful Vacation... well chilled
Many, many thanks to Sandra a Nigel for providing us with a wonderful holiday escape.
We wanted a French Holiday where we could relax and enjoy peace and tranquility, mixed with all the usual French atmosphere, village life, food and wine. Jasmine Cottage and the surrounding area provided all this... and some.
When the dusk chorus ended and the cicadas finished their mating calls. All you could hear was nothing... absolutely nothing. Watching the sun set, with a nice glass (or two) of your favourite tipple was wonderful.
Jasmin Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. So whether you want to stay local, or visit all the Loire attractions, Jasmin Cottage is an ideal base. Nigel and Sandra were on hand if you needed advise or information... but never intrusive.
Thanks once again, from a very ’chilled’ Garth and Jane

A Relaxing Country Retreat in Beautiful Central France
What a gem! Nigel and Sandra Berry have created a country cottage with all you will need for a relaxing stay. The property is enchanting. The location is central to many historic and significant cultural sites. Nigel and Sandra themselves are wonderful hosts. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and can highly recommend their gite.

Beautiful, relaxing, quiet cottage with a fantastic garden and plunge pool
Great place. Cottage is very comfortable, and well appointed and very well cared for. The garden area is lovely - very large, with different places to sit as the sun crosses. This was our second stay - and it was as good as the first visit.
Great countryside, lots of walks around the farm tracks, Richelieu and Loudun are the nearest towns - both lovely.
We thoroughly recommend this place. Owners Nigel and Sandra are excellent hosts.

Fantastically relaxing holiday cottage
Jasmine Cottage is fantastic place to relax and unwind. The cottage has everything you could need including some extra British plugs points which was very useful if youve forgotten to pack an adaptor. The garden is an absolute joy....huge, beautifully planted and with lots of places to sit in both sun and shade. We had great weather and spent lot's of time in the pool, barbequeing on the patio, as well as playing table tennis. Nigel and Sandra were great hosts and offered lots on information about places to visit, as well as providing us with fresh eggs from their chickens. The surrounding area has lots to do. We enjoyed the zoo at Doue La Fontaine, Chateau Villandry and Samur. A real highlight was lunch at Ricadeaux (sp?) in Loudon.....amazing food, friendly service and really reasonably priced. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

Gorgeous, relaxing cottage in beautiful French countryside
We had a fabulous holiday a few weeks ago in this charming cottage. It has been very thoughtfully decorated and has everything you need. What makes it even more special is the garden and the various places to sit and enjoy the views and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. It really is an idyllic escape from the noise and bustle of the UK. The planting encourages lots of insects and birds, as well as animals, and also offers lots of places to sit in the shade. The plunge pool is an added bonus on those very hot days. Nigel and Sandra, the owners, were very welcoming and always on hand if we needed anything, from sharing their hens' eggs to offering advice on local markets and places to visit. They were never intrusive and the whole property feels very private and secluded.
The nearby town of Richelieu is very beautiful, as are many of the medieval towns along the Loire, such as Chinon (a particular favourite), Montsoreau and Saumur. We also highly recommend Fontevraud Abbey. If you have an interest in history, there is lots to see and do, much of it involving Joan of Arc and the Plantagenets! You do need to use a car a fair bit to get around, but the roads are good and not at all busy. We highly recommend this property if you want to get away from it all and sink into the relaxed, easy and convivial lifestyle of the Loire valley and surrounding areas.

A charming place to stay
Jasmine Cottage is a peaceful and charming place to stay. The owners are delightful and welcoming and they had supplied for your every need. There is seating in various parts of the garden, so you can enjoy sun or shade. we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the terrace nearly every day. You are also in easy reach of interesting places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful, comfortable cottage full of character
The cottage interior was very well decorated with a charming 'shabby chic' style. It was very clean with well thought out facilities, including English sockets. Upon our arrival our friendly hosts had provided a welcome pack and were justly proud of the service they provided. The exterior was superb with a welcome plunge pool and a super variety of areas to relax in the garden - all with fantastic rural views. Nigel also took us all into a nearby town for evening dinner, and picked us all up later, marvellous. A wonderful holiday and destination.

Idyllic two weeks
We had a lovely relaxing two weeks at Jasmine Cottage. The cottage itself was great - very comfortable with everything you needed but the garden........whow. Fantastic space with so many sitting areas we could hardly keep up. "Mediterranean Terrace" for meals; under the cherry trees to read; loungers on the decking for sunbathing; hammock for whenever; swing seat for late afternoon. BBQ was well used but we didn't tackle the pizza oven!
Lovely walks from the cottage and plenty of interesting places to visit if you can only drag yourself away from the garden (Villandry Chateau is highly recommended especially if you are into vegetables) and Chinon is a delightful town.
Bikes are provided as were loads of games to keep you occupied - croquet, darts, table tennis, and boules.
And of course there was the plunge pool. Even at a "normal" 27 degrees or so it would have been very welcome but with the temperature rising to 35 degrees over a couple of days it was a life-saver and a great pleasure.
Thank you Nigel and Sandra for your hospitality - you made us very welcome and at the same time gave us the privacy and space we needed. Perfect hosts!

The idealic rural retreat
From the moment we arrived we felt at our home away from home. The owners (Nigel & Sandra) were incredibly welcoming. The property is exactly how we envisaged it, and we were not disappointed. Especially wonderful were the little finishing touches and thoughtfulness that they had put into everything to make our stay so enjoyable. if you truly want to get away and relax, and sample real rural and rustic France then you should seriously consider this as an option. No doubt we'll be back.

Jasmine Cottage
We spent a very relaxing week here in early July this year. We have visited the Loire Valley many times but this was our first stay in the Chinon area, which is a beautiful and tranquil part of France. The cottage is an excellent base for exploring the area which we did mostly on bikes. The roads are very quiet and ideal for cycling. The gite is very comfortable, well appointed and tastefully decorated. Everything you could possibly need is supplied and Nigel and Sandra are superb hosts. We enjoyed our evening meals on the patio, looking out over beautiful countryside. The highlight of our week was the Bistrot meal, prepared by Sandra and served by Nigel. Thoroughly recommended.

We had two fantastic weeks here. Nigel and Sandra were very welcoming and friendly people and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable. The house and gardens are great, we loved the fruit trees! We would highly recommend a stay at Jasmine Cottage.

Beautiful rural gite
We have just spent a wonderful week in Nigel and Sandra's lovely property at Princy near Richelieu. Very old cottage tastefully refurbished. We travelled with our daughter, husband and small grandson and although it was a bit of a squeeze with the little one (the property is advertised for two couples) as we spent all our time outdoors it wasnt a problem. There is a huge garden area with a plunge pool, bbq area, pizza oven, hammock, bikes and games, ideal for a 3 yr old to run round in. The area is beautiful and the local villagers friendly. Nigel and Sandra could not do enough for us and we enjoyed a meal in their bistro very much indeed. The food and service were excellent. We would definitely return to Jasmine Cottage when next we are in the Loire Valley . Thank you for a wonderful stay.

French Paradise
We drove from London to Nigel and Sandra's beautiful rental property in the little rural town of Princay to stay in the Jasmine Cottage.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly couple and shown around our week long residence. Impressively we had sole usage of a massive garden complete with hammocks, swinging chairs, sun loungers, fruit trees, BBQ area, Pizza Oven, plunge pool and entertainment area! Inside the property both rooms were en-suite and we had a great little kitchen, dining area and living room. We even were given a welcome pack of supplies to ensure we could have a meal that evening.
Upon setteling in and enjoying our first day in our new surroundings and relaxing in the sun, we were invited over to Nigel and Sandra's garden bar for snacks and drinks which was a really nice touch and allowed us to get to know them both a bit more which was great. They offered to make calls on our behalf which was very helpful as we aren't fluent french speakers.
Using the property as a base we explored a large amount of the surrounding area over the week including the beautiful areas of Chinon and Richleau. In the main we drove around or took walks in local area however we also were given access to bikes at our disposal if we chose to use them.
Due to the lovely surroundings we mainy ate outside making use of the BBQ on several occasions and even creating our own Pizza's and cooking them up in the pizza oven.
On one of the evenings a bistro experience was on offer in which we enjoyed a wonderful three course meal in Nigel and Sandra's very own Bistro which was an amazing surprise! I highly recommond booking this experience as it is gorgeous meal in a wonderful bistro. Again we finished off the evening with our hosts and were even lucky enough to be introduced to their friendly dogs!
Overall the four of us had a wonderfully relaxing week in truly beautiful surroundings. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone thinking of visiting France. With the perfect balance of attentive service and privacy, Nigel and Sandra have created a wonderful holiday destination which is second to none. Thank you for being wonderful hosts
