Massive misrepresentation!!!

The location. The fact that they gave our money back and offered a free breakfast after the story below.

We booked Antrim Apartments and received numerous confirmation letters to confirm this. What you are not aware of is that there are also Antrim Villa and Antrim House!! You have to get the key at Antrim Villa. We were taken down the stairs outside the house to a very small and depressing room without a kitchen as promised by the photo's that we booked. When asking about this, it came out that Antrim Apartments were fully booked and we were just put into this little room without any explanation. The man who booked us in, then went to the manager across the street to talk to him. It was 30°, we were tired and was hoping to get a quick rest before a 3 hour choir rehearsal, so we decided to take a room on ground level which at least had a bay window and was light.

Not the cleanest place in town

The location and staff were great.

The TV is in the bedroom. It didn't work. There were no ice trays. The scatter cushions smelt of other people's hair and body odor. The bedroom lights flickered when you put them on and the bedside lamp wasn't plugged into anything and there was a big wet patch on the bedroom carpet. Some attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of this apartment

The only negative was that their were no towels so our shower was with one hand towel. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Overall a perfect stay, even though the Sanlam CPT marathon was cancelled at the last minute.

The Odyssey was perfectly located. We also liked that it was quiet, no loud music or noise

The shower door did not close, so the floor was wet after every shower. The soap dish had broken off at some stage, so there was nowhere for me to leave my soap, other than on the shower floor.

A mini retreat

It's in Main Road, accessible to most of things.

Bedding at the second bedroom(with single beds). It had stains on it. We had issues with the window blind when we checked in, had to call maintenance guys to come fix bcos it was not closing, my husband had to assist the guy to take out the blinder and hang another one just for us to be able to have privacy in the bedroom.

The shower drain was blocked but my husband cleaned it and then it worked fine. Perhaps advertise "hairdryer available on request" as I was disappointed that there wasn't one in the room as advertised. Also no gowns as advertised

Value for money - friendly staff. Good for a short stay

Location was convenient, great for warmer weather with the large open windows and pool area

Bathroom had black mold and the apartment wasn’t hygienically cleaned - I found hair in the kitchen sink on arrival. You can hear the apartment above you as people move The curtains don’t pluck out the light and the street lights and building next door’s light glow into the bedroom

It is a very neat well put together apartment with an amazing location which made exploring the city so easy and enjoyable. There are numerous nearby stores, Restaurants and cafes! Worth every penny.

Location was good

We arrived to one very nice apartment that had been cleaned properly but the other one we booked smelt terrible and was dirty. After complaining, staff did a big clean and removed a carpet that seemed to be the source of the smell. Not a great experience to arrive to. These apartments have potential to be really great if they are cleaned properly and the pillows and mattresses replaced. Collecting and dropping off keys is a frustrating process which took forever.

Thieves!!!! Don’t stay if you don’t want money stolen from you!

About $1000 stolen from locked safe!!!! Nothing is done about it. Don’t trust them especially women called Gillian - she probably was the one to steal or part of it. Cameras and security everywhere but money still stolen and nothing is done about it. Don’t tell them about your plans how long u staying etc, they asked weird questions so they can steal from you. It says washing machine in the apartment but no washing machine. When asked once for cleaning in 6 days stay it wasn’t done. It was done day later. I hate this place.

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unacceptable Accommodation and Service Standards (Antrim Apartments) Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at Antrim Apartments, booked through your platform. The condition of the accommodation and the lack of basic amenities were unacceptable and not reflective of what was advertised. The following issues were encountered: • No hot water was available throughout the stay. • The television did not function. • The kitchen lacked a roller towel; instead, a roll of toilet paper was provided—unsuitable and unhygienic. • There was insufficient crockery, making meal preparation difficult. • The bed was not a standard double, and was too small to comfortably accommodate two people. • The air conditioner was not working, and the portable replacement unit leaked water. • A painter was working outside the apartment, severely compromising privacy. • The bathroom basin was clogged, which made use of the sink unhygienic and inconvenient. • The towel rail warmer was not operational. • A light fitting was missing and not replaced, leaving areas poorly lit. • No milk was provided for the coffee machine, rendering it unusable for its intended purpose. • Despite reporting these issues and requesting an upgrade, I was informed this was not possible, and none of the issues were addressed during my stay. This experience was far below acceptable standards and misrepresented the property listing on your platform. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of responsiveness from the host and the overall condition of the accommodation. I am requesting a full or partial refund for this booking due to the inconvenience and discomfort endured, and I urge you to investigate Antrim Apartments to prevent future guests from facing a similar experience. Good location, adequate but unexciting place to stay.

Unit 404. Room was initially not serviced, and there were plumbing problems. To its credit, the building did send someone the same day to rectify these problems. The apartment was rather cheaply put together; for example, hooks on the walls could not be used because they were not properly installed. It would have been helpful to have adaptors for the plugs in the walls, as it took us a while to figure out what would work where.

The location was great. The flat was clean, big and very functional. I did particularly appreciated the coffee machine, the dish washer and the washing machine/Dryer. Two bathrooms are great for a family.
