Beware of description

The house looks nice and the location is ok. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to a beach and around 10 minutes to a supermarket and the apartment is situated in the center of a picturesque town. The shared part of the apartments also look nice.

I have booked an apartment for 4 making sure the photos showed 2 rooms as we travelled as 2 couples and wanted to stay for 2 nights. Unfortunately the room that we got had a double bed and a double couch all in the same room, which was also a kitchen. From my side, I am 100% sure I booked an apartment with 2 rooms, so there are three options of what happened here: either I was mistaken (but the description anyway said there is a living room and a bedroom), or the host was wrong and gave us a wrong room or booking.com messed up the description. Regardless, upon seeing the room, I decided we will leave two people in it and look for smth else for other two. We informed the host and asked to reduce the rate for the room to the 2-person rate, which did not happen. Also, the Terrasse that is being offered in description does not belong to any apartment and is in communal use, which in times of corona is a bit useless. Additionally, there was no breakfast, which is seen in description of the rooms for the same reasons. Looking at all the other positive reviews, we might have been unlucky, but make sure you read the description very precisely and maybe contact the host to confirm what exactly you booked. This ended up being the only downside of our 9 day road trip and doubled the cost of staying at lake Garda for us.
