About this cabin rental
The lodge on AuTrain Lake is a 3 bedroom, log home overlooking the west shore of beautiful AuTrain Lake within the Hiawatha National Forest. The Lodge is only 2 miles from Lake Superior and just 11 miles west of Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!
The top floor bedroom has a Queen bed. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed. The ground floor bedroom has 2 twin bunk beds. The ground floor also has 2 sets of (4 total) full beds and 2 pull-out queen beds. Sleeps up to 12. 3 full bathroom. Jacuzzi tub. Pool table. Gas fireplace. Large deck, grills, bonfire pit. On the a west side of AuTrain Lake! Lots of Privacy! UP living at its finest!

The lodge exceeded our expectations for a large group near pictured rocks. The view of au train lake was beautiful. The inside was newly renovated in knotty pine, and the open first floor with large windows overlooking the lake was great. The location was a little out of munising, but we found we preferred it. Lake superior and Au train beach was a short drive and was a surprisingly beautiful large sand beach that wasn't crowded and the northwoods ice cream shop across from the beach was a nightly hit. Au train falls and laughing whitefish falls were close by. The only note i would make is that the property's beach access to au train lake is a little aspirational given the steep hill and woods - go to au train beach. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a week and had two families, 4 adults and 8 kids. The room/bed set up was great. The basement sleeping area isn’t an actual bedroom, just two sets of full over full bunks and there is a really small room off to the side that has a twin over twin bunk. The kids loved having their own space, including the pool table. The 3 full bathrooms was great and the kitchen had plenty of appliances for all your cooking needs.
The lake is beautiful and the kids had fun fishing right off the shore and dock. There is a pretty steep sand dune you have to go down to get to the beach area, which was the only downfall. However, the owner did mention they have plans to add some stairs. The fire pit area was really nice, as well.
There is a ton to do right in the immediate area. Our favorites were the Au Train Falls and the Au Train beach! Close drive to Pictured Rocks, too. Overall we had a wonderful time at this northwoods cabin!

Cabin itself clean and good amenities. There is no lake access which is accessible safely so do not plan to swim or kayak/fish. The tub in the basement was backed up, property management notified and we never got a response or a fix during our stay so had a tubful of water. Multiple portable air conditioners did not work properly or properly cool the basement. A group of men showed up trying to check in the day before we were scheduled to check out as the property was double booked. Would not stay again.
