Hlane Royal National Park

It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. A beautiful place to spot animals. Especially the amazing rhinos with their beautiful horns.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, with very comfortable beds. The accommodation is conveniently located within walking distance of the restaurant, which was a real bonus. We especially enjoyed the incredible wildlife sightings in the early mornings and late afternoons as the animals came down to drink. It was such a special experience to be able to enjoy this from the restaurant. We would definitely recommend staying here and would happily return!

Check-in was a bit chaotic and they'd made a mistake on our safari booking, but the rooms all worked out well and we loved them despite the lack of electricity. Showers were rather cold though! We also found plenty to eat at dinner and enjoyed the staff's show.

The atmosphere at Hlane is peaceful and quiet, which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable.

The accommodation did not feel particularly clean or fresh, BUT the safari was by far the most disappointing part of our stay. The Park felt more like a huge zoo than a real safari experience, as the animals are kept in separate fenced areas. The guide will also tell you that seeing 3 of the Big Five is unusual. Of course it is, when the animals are kept in specific areas and the guides know exactly where to find them.😂 Overall, we would not choose Hlane again.
