Domaine Le Clos des Oliviers - L'Ami Soleil

The villa was spacious and clean although a little bit dated. Each bedroom had AC as well as the lounge which was very welcomed during the heatwave in June. It was a privately owned villa so was very well equipped. It was quite peaceful too. We were there at the end of June and it got quite a bit busier at the weekend just before the start of July. I imagine that’s when the French schools finish. The animation team were very friendly but we didn’t take part in any of the activities due to it all being in French, not that we as Brits expect them to speak English at all (when in Rome and all that), but if we don’t know what’s going on it makes it difficult to join in. The pool area was lovely. Lots of shaded areas and really thick mattresses for the beds which you collected and returned to a storage room. There are several different pools: a children’s pool, one for swimming in, a graduated one and one area for the slides. There are 3 slides which were fun, even for someone like me heading towards 60! There are also some jacuzzis and a small lazy river. There is a bar area which when we were there opened at 6pm and served pizzas, chips, chicken tenders that sort of thing, but I noticed their menu changed for July onwards with more choice including salads and sandwiches, and I imagine they would extend their hours too. The grounds are very well kept with lovely greenery and flowers. I spoke to a few people who owned villas there and everyone was really nice and polite. There is an Aldi within 5 minutes walk and a boulangerie. Also, a few nearby restaurants which we tried. And Vidauban was a lovely traditional French town. All in all, we had a really lovely time. We had read some of the reviews on here and were worried about what we’d booked, but I think what you have to remember is France is different to Spain and other typical English destinations and people have certain expectations. That’s not saying the facilities were bad at all, just different.

The villa we had had a very tight parking space. Although we ate out most nights, the villa didn’t have an oven which could make being self catering a bit restrictive.

Tryggt bra pool och möjligheter till olika aktiviteter med barnen. Lugnt och välordnat. Toppen för barnfamiljer och om man vill ha det lugnt.

Beau village vacances, facilité d’accès et calme. Nous n’avons pas pu profiter de la piscine malheureusement car le temps n’était pas au rendez-vous et la piscine non chauffée à part le jacuzzi. Air de jeux sympas pour les enfants.

Notre logement était suffisamment grand mais les équipements un peu datés. Le canapé petit pour une famille de 4 personnes et pas de four dans la cuisine. Nous n’en avons pas eu besoin mais détail important, le logement E7 n’est pas équipé de clim…

The swimming pool was amazing

There was no on site shop The bar was only open at specific times and not every day same with bar snacks The chalet didn’t feel that clean, the mop stored in the bathroom was very overdue a change of head and the drains smelt Having to hire bed linen and towels felt annoying. The bed sheets provided didn’t fit the bed properly and kept coming off if you moved even the tiniest bit in the bed As we are travelling with a 4 and 2 year old we booked this site as we thought there would be lots going on eg entertainment, games, kids club etc but it seems there is only such activities during July and August.
