Everything at Herdade das Barradas was exceptional. It was as if I'd stepped back in time to the French countryside (although it was Portugal), with sheep roaming and a charming chateau with wooden ceiling beams, whitewashed walls, antique fixtures, and a breakfast spread featuring the freshest fruit, a selection of breads, meats, and fresh juices. The pool was very nice with every type of accoutrement for your enjoyment. We went on a fascinating tour of the cork trees surrounding the property. I'll never look at a cork stopper the same way again.

Calm and Beautiful setting in nature. Excellent service. Main building where you have breakfast and the outdoor terrace is very beautiful. Great breakfast
Rooms are a little dated in decor but very clean and really large in size. Could have a kettle in the room

What an absolutely stunning stay. The pictures of the property are gorgeous, but actually seeing it with your own eyes is next level. Staying here felt like a calm oasis. Birds chirping throughout the day, and crickets by night. Delicious breakfast every day, a really nice sized studio where we cooked fresh fish in the kitchen and had a nice solid sleep by night. Also loved the extra little touches of delivering mini Easter eggs over the holidays, the delicious fresh olive oil which tasted incredible, and the delivery of fresh condiments to our spot mere minutes after we asked about it. Finally, we also love love loved the hiking trails. We finished our stay with the 5k hike on the morning. Stunning!
That we had to leave! We'll be back next year.
