MesseHotel Köln-Deutz

The hotel is located in a residential area, a short, (leisurely 20 min) walk away from the Cathedral etc. The street itself is very quiet but there are many small supermarkets, restaurants, chemists etc a few minutes walk away. We chose this hotel mainly because we were driving and wanted a hotel which was easily accessible via the ring road (to avoid driving through the city centre) & also a car park. We chose a room with a balcony which turned out to be a reasonably sized terrace with a table and chairs. This was an unexpected added bonus for us. The room was a lovely size & spotlessly clean. We already knew there was no air conditioning and although we stayed during a heatwave, being on the third floor we felt safe enough to sleep with the terrace doors open. Overall its was excellent value for money and we had a peaceful, restful stay.

The location is perfect for Lanex arena

No staff. Everything was clear and key pick up was easy.

Bathroom was nice and modern, location was good for the lanxess arena, 10-15minute walk. Was not too expensive either

Beds were not particularly comfy. When we arrived to check in the door was locked and no staff around so had to spend 30minutes on hold with the sister hotel for them to give us a code to let ourselves in and use a deposit box for our room key. Other than cleaners visiting daily, didn't speak to or see any member of staff until the day of departure. By the looks of it there were times where there was no member of staff in the building at all.
