Rustic Refuge Guesthouse

Breakfast was there, uber eats reachable. surrounded by green

Manager of this property, Rod, is very kind and accommodating. The venue is comfortable, has everything I needed. Enjoyed having fully set up kitchen in which I could cook. Lovely wrap-around verandah. I enjoyed the personal touches, eg family photographs. Although this is his home, Rod was discreet and unobtrusive which I appreciate.

Unfortunately the serenity of the location was disturbed by neighbouring construction works and tradies playing loud radio which , of course, is out of Rod's control. The freezer in the kitchen did not work at all which I only realised the following morning when my items were barely cold. The location is lovely but challenging without a car as it is towards the bottom of a very steep hill. There is nowhere to buy groceries in Kalorama. Instructions for the TV may have been helpful for a luddite like me. I didn't watch it as I couldn't figure it out.

I liked the relaxed nature of the host and his friendliness. On top of this, the location was terrific and the rooms felt private and were comfortable. One more thing was the hot tub, which was very relaxing.

Maybe a little cleaner, but to be honest I didn't have any issues.

It was in a very picturesque place, loved the view. It was a lovely building and Rod was very friendly and obliging.

The bed was comfortable and the linen was clean, but I have to be honest, the room we ended up in was dusty and the vanity top in the bathroom was dirty around the taps, the toilet seat wabbled about, but we were originally supposed to be in a different room so maybe that was the problem.
