Disappointing

Nothing except the heating!

That house doesn't seem to be correctly maintained inside and outside. This building is getting a ruin and doesn't seem so safe. When we arrived we had first to clean and open the windows because of a very strong tobacco smell! The mattress is dirty and we had to put a protection on it before to put our own sheeting. Outside this small village is without life. All is closed except a small grocery, a bar, a tobacco shop, pharmacy, backer....Really a boring place. For shopping and find a supermarket you have to drive 30 km. To pay 90€ for a night is to waste money!

Disappointed after expecting great things.

We had stayed in the host's other neighbouring property the year before and we were keen to return after a great experience. They had said that the apartment we were staying in was a much bigger and nicer one. It was bigger with two good sized bedrooms. It's location is perfect, right in the middle of St Jean en Royans, but mostly quiet at night. The church bells are very close/loud but stop at 9pm and start again at 7am. The village is great, it has everything - nice cafes, supermarket, swimming pool, bakery. There is lots of outside space to eat and enjoy the sun.

The garden is not secure - and there is a footpath right next to the house which has no fence or any barrier separating it. This made us worry about the security of anything in the garden and security of the property in general. The shower was terrible, and had a blocked drain on arrival which we sorted ourselves after the hosts told me they were going on holiday and not to contact them (I was most annoyed about being told not to contact her - your job as a host is to be available!) The big shower head was broken and the small mobile one did not stay up on its bracket so we had to tape it up. The kitchen lacked really basic things for cooking and I struggled to make the food I wanted to make -only one small oven dish, no big sharp knives etc. We moved the spot where we had been told to park the car because the garage was so tight and dangerous to reverse into off the main road where there is a blind corner. We had no problem in the spot we eventually parked in which was right at the foot of the stairs to the flat and the hosts should have told us to park there in the first place. Linen and towels were not provided- and while I was told this in advance and took my own it is a real pain to do this and there is no reason (they cite COVID) for them not to provide this service. All the other properties I have stayed at in France this year have provided.

Modern apartment in a beautiful old village.

This apartment is in a fabulous location in the middle of a beautiful village - but it is so quiet and peaceful. The garden is beautiful and a wonderful outside space to have. The facilities are modern and bright and practical. The village has great bars and restaurants, two bakeries, a butcher and a grocers! Perfect.

The oven is a small microwave sized grill, and I prefer to have a full oven to cook - but it was as advertised. The kitchen was otherwise perfect. Payment was a bit complicated but mainly because I do not speak French. The hosts were very welcoming.

Très satisfaite

Suffisamment grand pour 4 personnes et bien équipé. La douche top au niveau taille et pression. Bien situe pour visiter le coin, pratique car en centre village qui est bien achalandé. Une belle terrasse ombragée. Places pour se garer. Canapé et literie confortable.

Les cloches qui sonnent à 7h00 mais si on dort vraiment on ne les entend pas. Un petit bémol pour la salle de bain qui se trouve au fond du couloir sans porte donc il faut se déshabiller dans la douche.

Nous avons apprécié le séjour dans son intégralité. Le logement est vraiment propre, pratique et fonctionnel. Je recommande !

Le manque de mot de passe du Wi-Fi, l'absence de torchon vaisselle et torchon des mains (non demandé a être ramené dans la description).
