Appartement du Château du Grand Bouchet

Parking was very easy, on the large driveway in front of the house. Nice old building,in good repair, in lovely large grounds. Rooms were very large, so the whole apartment was very spacious. Not luxurious, although furnishings were in keeping with the age of the house, but good enough. We had a bedroom each, and also a bathroom each. The location, just south of the river Loire, near Tours, was very good for touring, as verything along the Loire we wanted to see or do was on that side of the river.

Apartment was on 2nd floor, with no lift, so a heavy climb to get up to it, with luggage especially. One of the two bedrooms available to us, although very large, doubled as a lounge, but only had two chairs, so no comfortable settee for lounging, and inappropriate as a lounge if wanting to use it as a private bedroom. However, the worst thing by far, was the flow of hot water into the bath, which was pathetic. Just a tiny dribble. This made the bath unusable. There was a hand shower attachment, but no wall fitting to hang it on to use as a proper shower. The water flow through the shower was poor, but just about enabled me to wash, but very awkwardly as I had to hold the shower handle. I showed the owner a video of the pathetic flow of hot water into the bath, but their English was almost non-existent, and nothing was done to improve it. This really spoiled our 8 day stay there. They have to modernise the hot water system and have a proper shower fitment over the bath. This applied to both bathrooms. The heating was totally inadequate for the size of the rooms. In other words, they need to modernise the facilities to make the apartment useable. We paid quite a lot of money, and really expected more. I understand this is an old building, but if renting it out as apartments in this modern age, it really needs a lot of work to bring it up to a modern standard that you would expect from a converted old "chateau".

The apartment was perfectly appointed for a stay of a few days with the amenities needed. Good wifi. Beautiful house and environment, very friendly and welcoming hostess. We would gladly have stayed there much longer.

Le cadre et l'hébergement correspondent aux photos. C'est très calme, le parc de la propriété est superbe et invite à la balade, la piscine (partagée avec les autres vacanciers) est top car dans un coin calme, avec de l'ombre et des transat. L'appartement a une magnifique vue sur le jardin et répond aux besoins fonctionnels. Les hôtes sont conviviaux, réactifs, et accueillants.

In einem Schloss wohnen? Ja, das hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Top Lage, sehr ruhig, riesiges gepflegtes Grundstück. Toller Pool, an dem wir fast immer allein waren. Parkplatz direkt vorm Château. Große Wohnung im obersten Stock (kein Aufzug) mit Möbeln, die gut zu einem Schloss passen. Bequeme Betten, 2 Badezimmer mit kuschelweichen Handtüchern. Küche mit Mikrowelle, Herd, Ofen, Spülmaschine (sogar mit Tabs), Toaster und Wasserkocher. Ausreichend Geschirr und Besteck. Waschmaschine im Erdgeschoss durften wir nutzen. Keine Klimaanlage, aber man kann nachts gut bei offenem Fenster schlafen, da es sehr ruhig ist (allerdings verirrt sich dann auch mal eine Fledermaus ins Zimmer). Idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Besichtigung der Loire-Schlösser.

Armaturen im Bad sind zwar sehr hübsch, aber nicht zweckmäßig. Warmes Wasser ist schwierig einzustellen. WLAN gab es nur am Pool, nicht im Appartement. TV funktioniert nicht. Fliegengitter wären schön gewesen, da es viele Mücken gab (und auch mal eine Fledermaus). Aber das ist sicher nicht einfach bei den historischen hübschen Fenstern.

Appartement mit Schlosspark und Pool. Das Appartement war grossräumig und stilgerecht eingerichtet. Super bequeme Betten, moderne Küche und ein extrem grosses Badezimmer allerdings mit Handdusche in der Badewanne (war für uns aber kein Problem). Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Besitzer!
