It’s very nice and I would recommend this hotel for a short stay

Clean and great location for walking in the city center. It felt rustic with an antique feel that was really unique.

Parking is very difficult and the room doors don’t seem very secure.

Good value, central location, ancient finishes; extremely loud.

The included continental breakfast was excellent and could be supplemented at cost with complete menu. The location was central, close to shops and many restaurants.

The hotel is located next to an all night disco terrace; the extremely loud music on weekends goes on until 3:00 am. Bring earplugs. Music still can be heard other nights of the week. The restaurant closes at 4:30 pm. The rooms only face a small courtyard, a light well really. Finishes are ancient but have character.

Great hotel with outstanding location in a Xalapa that has gone down

Charming hotel with exceptional location by main zocalo plaza. Access to great breakfast restaurant with delicious typical dishes. Eventhou the hotel is in the middle of the crowded and noisy, the room as quiet and secluded.

The room was dark, typical for a traditional old town construction. The bed/pillows could be better. The location was great for closeness to main attractions, but the entrance street was extremely busy and caotic.

Historic building in great position but a few issues

Great location in centre of town and a nice historic building with pleasant public areas. Plenty of hot water and good WIFI. Pretty good value for money overall

Room was fairly basic with old (quaint?) furniture. Locking the door was tricky, a bit like locking up the door to a castle to be honest. A very basic locking system with various latches and bolts and when the door was finally locked there were pretty large gaps around the frame enabling you to look out into the courtyard (and presumably the other way round too!). Not ideal really. The included basic continental breakfast was just about ok however serving a croissant that was buttered in the middle then microwaved to death is never going to be very enjoyable. To be honest for what I needed (a bed for the night) the hotel was OK but wouldn't have wanted to stay for longer.

Amazing stay, comfortable and welcoming

Excellent stay, great bed, cotton sheets, very friendly staff and very good breakfast with hand-made tortillas. They also have water freely available to refill. And really nice hot shower.

I would have like to be able to open the window of the bedroom throughout the night and not just have the option of the AC. Maybe another chair or where to put my suitcase would be good too.

The location, very close to all interesting points. The house is very historical, rustic but nice. The food from the restaurant La Candela is very good. Clean staff were awesome. Very good internet connection.

A great find!

Very clean and quiet with comfortable bed and plentiful hot water. Restaurant is excellent. Only continental breakfast is included, but they will apply a credit towards full breakfast if you prefer. Free secured parking is a plus. Great value.

Superb

Breakfast was really nice. Beautiful cafe/restaurant. The AC in the room is also the heater, so it keeps the room warm like it should in December of Xalapa. Very clean and comfortable overall. We loved the fact that the general vibe is not contemporary but kind of antique yet fresh.

I wish there was a view to our room and that the restaurant was open longer.

El lugar es divino, nos gustó mucho y el restaurante La Candela es excelente, un gran sazón, aunque no hay platillos pequeños, son abundantes y entonces para mi hija fue demasiado.

Las suites que tienen escaleras no las recomiendo para adultos mayores, son peligrosas.

Muy buena estancia.

La ubicación del hotel es excelente, a una cuadra del parque central. Algunas personas se quejan de que hay ruido en un bar cercano y que eso no los dejó descansar. Sin embargo, no fue nuestro caso, por la noche no se oía ninguna bulla y pudimos dormir sin complicaciones. La señorita que se encuentra por la mañana en la recepción fue muy amable. Además, entregaron la factura de forma rápida en cuanto envié mis datos y constancia. Espero quedarme en otra ocasión que viaje a Xalapa.
