Room was excellent only issue was mosquitoes which i informed room service and initially they said they cannot provide any repellent, but later I complained more and they gave one almost used mosquito repellent.

Same the staff didnt provided the Mosquito repellent and i was exposed to many mosquito bites during my stay.

While the food was excellent, the dining room got very busy and felt cramped trying to get to an from our table.

Check in time not adhered to - room available an hour later than advertised. Staff hassled for reviews and stood over you wanting to press 5 stars ⭐️ and repeating their names to be added. This is very unrelaxing during a holiday.

This was my third stay at the hotel this year, and there were several aspects that made me return. The location is excellent and provides a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The food was consistently good throughout my stay, with a wide variety of options and a high standard of preparation. Most importantly, the staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and always eager to assist. Their positive attitude and professionalism stood out and were one of the highlights of the experience. Whenever issues arose, such as problems with the room safe or plumbing, they were addressed quickly and efficiently, demonstrating a strong commitment from the front-line team to guest satisfaction.

Despite its strengths, there were several areas where the hotel did not meet the standards I would expect from a 5-star property. Although the rooms appeared clean on the surface, there was noticeable dust under the bed and behind furniture, indicating that deep cleaning was not being carried out thoroughly. The rooms also showed signs of wear and tear, and I experienced recurring issues with both the room safe and plumbing blockages. While these were resolved promptly, such maintenance problems should be less common in a hotel of this calibre. Another concern was the lack of soundproofing; during a nearby musical event, the noise was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. While the event itself was beyond the hotel's control, better sound insulation would have significantly improved guest comfort. I was also disappointed that, despite this being my third stay of the year and having spent more than two weeks at the property, there was no recognition of me as a returning guest. In addition, the management team was largely invisible throughout my stay, which made the hotel feel less engaged with guest feedback. Finally, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility regarding late check-out. My flight from Colombo was at 8:00 pm, and I requested to remain in my room until 3:30 pm. Given the length of my stay, my overall spend on accommodation and dining, and the fact that the hotel was not fully occupied on the day of my departure, I felt a more accommodating approach would have been justified. Overall, these issues prevented the experience from fully matching the expectations associated with a luxury 5-star hotel.
