Good people but slightly disappointed given the lack of sleep due a warmer than desired room.

The help at the reception desk was wonderful. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was as hot and forceful as one would want. The location was excellent as it was an easy and quick walk to the train station. It was centrally located for a wonderful long walk downhill through the city center.

Thankfully the kind lady was there as we would likely have had difficulty understanding how to get into the building, the elevator and room given everything is opened and operated with one's phone. I did not get a good night's rest as the room proved to be too warm - despite getting help and assurance from a very kind building engineer. The room was smaller than expected for the price.

Lugano made easy

This place has been lovingly renovated (rebuilt?!) and the owners' pride in their achievements shines through in every detail. Lovely people, great location for convenience to everything, and a class act all round. Would not hesitate to come back here.

A wonderful and unique little place

This is a delightfully different hotel very near the train station. It was filled with small artistic pieces - there were more than a half dozen pieces in our room. The architecture of the hotel - recently remodeled - is compelling, reminding me of the Bauhaus school in Germany. There is a comfortable breakfast/work room and a lovely garden area.

The use of technology - e.g. web check-in and a web app to open your room door - could be off-putting to some.

Great location, especially if you are travelling by train

Great location near the station, especially as we were backpacking. The room presented well and was clean. The bed was comfy with nice bed linen. Staff were friendly and helpful. Fab restaurant, Buffet del Stazione right beside the station and I would highly recommend it.

Bathroom tiny - the door hit off the toilet seat and access to the shower itself was not easy and I am not a big person. Water leaked out beside the shower door so the toilet floor and bath mat were permanently wet during our 1 night stay.

Hotel fabulous, definitely would stay again if in Lugano.

Loved the concrete/rustic style interior, very modern finishing and the attention to detail, everything design wise carefully thought out. Interesting art pieces dotted throughout, nice little space on different levels outside with shade. Loved the room very clean and comfortable, great sleep and the shower was amazing. Easy walk to the funicular to go down into the city, close to the train, handy to pop on free local trains using the tourist pass provided, lovely hosts who were more than helpful.

Property fantastic, the only thing that could be improved is breakfast. Artisan in nature, however, not suiting our personal taste as not much to eat as such especially if vegetarian. More than 1 type of bread would offer variety, addition of boiled eggs and change the croissant which was very oily and far removed from a normal croissant would much improve. Good coffee and orange juice. Kettle available for use downstairs and water dispenser excellent idea with both cold still and sparkling water.

Great place for exploring Lugano on a 3-day trip

Must start with the hosts who were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and varied, excellent bread, selection of cheeses and charcuterie plus tasty croissants, coffee and selection of fresh fruit. The ambiance is very modern and whimsical sculptures are featured both in the room and public spaces.

A fabulous stay in a contemporary but funky hotel.

The hotel is fabulous with lots of quirky touches that make it interesting to look at. The staff were friendly and super helpful. Although I was worried about using the app to open doors etc, it was simple and easy to use. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Just a short walk from train station and funicular it was a great place to stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and would most definitely stay here again.

The owner was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel is located close to the railway station. It was an older building which has been beautifully modernised. It was very clean and comfortable and has a lovely feel to it. It’s a really nice ten minute walk to the centre of Lugano.

Didn't live up to our expectations

This is an interesting boutique hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the price was slightly cheaper than many other hotels in Lugano. The front desk staff who checked us in was super helpful on where we should go and visit. Lugano is a wonderful city, and I'd recommend others to visit (much less touristy than other cities in Switzerland). Shower was awesome!

Location - hotel is on the other side of Lugano train station; while still close to the train station, it is further away from everything else. Room was small - like really small even by Switzerland standards. This is a boutique hotel, so you don't have anyone at the reception most times (we only saw them check us in); you enter using a digital key on your cellphone - that key didn't work one day and luckily another couple was entering at the same time and let us in. The window in our room didn't close one day, and again no one there to help us ending up in a cold night. The hotel has a different retro style with sink outside the bathroom, concrete looking walls etc. - might work for some, didn't work for us.

The staff was friendly, special thanks to Daniel, who was amazing and super helpful throughout our stay. They offered free bus transportation tickets. The city center was easy to reach using the free little train. The room was clean and spacious.

The hotel,s design, the room: they gave me a better one than one I have paid, the kidness of the staff, almost everything. Location is good too, close the train station and the funicular to go to the center in 5 minutes.

The breakfast is not so good as the rest. If they improve a little this, added for example boiled eggs , yogourth, honey,ham and cheese and a toaster; it would be great. It would be great to improve the towels too.

Could have been better.

The location was very convenient.

The bathroom NEEDS to be renovated urgently. If nothing else, someone has to take care of the mold. The radiator has to be well maintained; one needs to remove the air from inside from time to time for it to work properly. Mine only had space for 20% of hot water, so I was very cold during the night and the sound of the water falling into it woke me up several times. The bed was not very comfortable, in my opinion, but I guess that is different for every person.
