Nice place for a short stay and very helpful staff. The hotel definitely shows signs of being old though. My room was quite haggard and had a faint smell of mould. It looks grand but its very basic. For the price, its definitely worth a night as the location is great! But its not anything special like it appears.

Grand old style hotel in a fantastic location on the wonderful lungomare in Brindisi. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring the historical centre, is around the corner from the Roman column marking the end of the Appian Way and looks across the water at the Sailors monument. The airport shuttle bus stops 150m away and it’s maybe 15 mins walk to the train station. This is a typical old style Italian “grand hotel” with marble floors, elegant sweeping marble staircase, and high ceilings in the bed rooms. The breakfast room with its elegant windows fronts onto the lungomare framing the sailor’s monument opposite. Hotel is spotlessly clean with fantastic cleaning staff. Breakfast staff are also wonderful professionals providing excellent service. I’d echo the experience of other travellers who found some of the rooms in need of updating. We had a very late arrival on a very busy weekend & got the last room available. It was ok for 1 late arrival night only, decent bathroom but a very simple room which really shouldn’t be offered to the public. Room #107. It overlooks a pretty squalid courtyard. Two pillows on the double bed and no coat hangers. At our request we were moved the next day to a very pleasant room. Reception staff were very nice about this. We’d no plans that morning so didn’t mind hanging around waiting & changing that day. However, although a lovely room, the air conditioning didn’t work nor did the fridge, more of an inconvenience than usual as it was during a heatwave. Breakfast was good if you have a very sweet tooth as there was lots of cake & cereals were corn flakes & cocoa pop type rather than any muesli or granola. But I appreciated the lovely fresh fruit & yoghurt and a fantastic quiche type dish. Really gorgeous. Scrambled eggs were good too. The hotel lacks a terrace area outside for coffees etc and the indoor bar was unmanned during our stay. I’d stay again because of the location plus I like this style hotel & the staff were nice but it could do with upgrading in some areas.

This is the hotel we stay at once we arrive in Puglia before travelling onwards. The hotel is dated but so what , has character and not shiny and plastic. We will return.

Best location. The airport bus leaves 200m away next to the porto authority building. We checked in at 01:00am no problem, breakfast had a large variety of salty food, fresh food and continental. Safe place to leave luggage during walking trip. Advise to go to the primo wine bar next door.
