A little disappointing

The room was a reasonable size with a pleasant view. Spacious bathroom and good shower. Nice hotel entrance and friendly staff.

Prior to our arrival, we completed a form which was supposed to avoid the check in process and allow swift access to our room. However, we still spent 5-10 mins at reception going through formalities which included them insisting they take 120 euros from our debit card in case we had drinks or breakfast, neither of which we intended to do. (Breakfast was a crazy 20 euros each.) In the room, the carpet was marked in multiple places and the room overall felt a little dated. Only a bedside table on one side of the double bed; not sure what the other person is supposed to do. The bathroom was a little dark due to insufficient lighting. The coffee and tea making facilities were minimal.

Lovely place in Dinan

The hotel is in a fabulous location right by the river. There is good parking on site. The staff were lovely and helpful. The pool was sadly closed but the jacuzzi was lovely. The bar and decor were lovely and breakfast was nice. The rooms were lovely and spacious with a nice bathroom.

The rooms did not have a fridge, which was a shame. There is no restaurant on site, but some snacks are available, but there are lots of places to eat nearby. We had a balcony but the room was ground floor so nice but strange.

Location was absolutely perfect, right on the river with beautiful views of traditional houses.

Breakfast excellent, fantastic choice of hot and cold food, traditional English or pastries, cheeses, breads and meats. Couldn't want for any more.

Cocktail made by a member of staff who told me she hadn't made a cocktail before - it arrived in a whiskey tumbler, no added little extras like little umbrella or fruit, very boring looking, didn't feel like a cocktail. Tasted ok but not brilliant. 👎

It was a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Good range of fresh food. The location was good with a choice of restaurants nearby and within walking distance of the old town. Room and bathroom were good sizes. The pleasant bar area overlooked the river with indoor and outdoor seating.

More information in the room about the sauna/pool as it wasn't clear that towels and robes were provided until we used it.

Perfect location for a super stay…

One of our favourite places to stay! The location is perfect, alongside the river with a super selection of bars and restaurants and where you can how on a boat for a trip out into the bay. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and we particularly like jumping in the hot tub at the end of the day. Staff are welcoming and helpful and there’s free secure parking as well as a delicious breakfast.

Lovely hotel by the river in Dinan

Lovely hotel by a beautiful river. Easy to park. The swimming pool area was a bonus on a hot afternoon. The room was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. A steep walk uphill to the Old Town but also plenty of bars and restaurants by the river. Superb breakfast and excellent service from staff. Loved little touches like free chilled water dispensers to fill up bottles. We would stay here again. Dinan is gorgeous.

Great place to stay

The room was very nice and clean, in a great location. You can walk to the city centre which is also very beautiful, we loved our stay. Parking was also an advantage. Super friendly staff.

FABULOUS! Beautiful port lots to see and do!

Our room was a really good size, we spent 3 nights in Dinan, beautiful port and a short walk to all of the riverside restaurants, it really does not matter that the hotel does not have a restaurant as there are so may within walking distance, we highly recommend a walk along the river to Les Rossignols, fab food & lovely staff & setting. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment, lovey pool and Spa as well. Approx. 15 mins walk up a "Steep" hill into the medieval village, please leave your heals in the hotel! we saw a few tourists favouring fashion over sense...not a good idea, however amusing for onlookers when the cobbles are wet, It's so pretty and well worth the visit. Great riverside walks in both directions, certainly upped our steps up! Free parking t the rear of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again if visiting this area of France.

Difficult but not impossible entrance as it was just a little confusing, we were not sure if we could go along the riverside to the entrance, YES you can ride/drive along the riverside and after you are checked in to the hotel you can access the gate to get in or out at the top of the hill with your room card.

A Modern, Comfortable Hotel with a Great Staff in a Picture-Postcard Setting

What a delightful, modern hotel beside the canal outside the walled city of Dinan! The canal area is picture-postcard perfect. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the added conveniences of electric window shades, spacious shower, and a room safe. We made good use of the hotel's robust spa. Had the weather been just-a-little warmer, we'd have availed ourselves of the outdoor pool, as well. The buffet breakfast was both diverse and delicious, with a wide array of tasty offerings. The staff could not have been friendlier, nor more helpful. A special shout-out to Bruce, who, that evening, was on-duty at both the Front Desk and behind the bar when we decided upon a nightcap. He makes a mean Old Fashioned, shared perceptive stories of his own travels, and provided us with many helpful (and appreciated) suggestions. He's a credit to the Mercure Dinan team!
