Excellent location, within easy walking distance of the historic centre, museums, the train station and plenty of restaurants. It’s a classic, comfortable hotel, and I especially appreciated how quiet the room was — there was no noise coming through the walls, so it was easy to get a good night’s sleep. I also appreciated the drinking-water dispenser in the lobby, which was a very practical touch. Another positive experience was the kindness of a receptionist, who was very helpful and printed our boarding passes for the return flights.
The check-in experience was not particularly welcoming. The receptionist seemed understandably frustrated by several issues with other guests, but unfortunately that frustration carried over into our interaction and we felt rather rushed. Eventually, another colleague took over. After two flights and a long journey, we were too tired to insist on our preference for a higher-floor room with a view towards the Old Town, so we simply accepted what was offered: a second-floor room overlooking the building behind the hotel, with only a church tower in the distance. Of course, I understand that not every guest can be given an Old Town view, but a warmer check-in experience would have made a difference. The room itself also felt somewhat below the standard I would expect from a four-star hotel. The lighting was quite poor and one of the lamps was not working. Bathroom amenities were very basic: there was shampoo but no conditioner, and when I asked for the shaving kit mentioned in the hotel information, I received an extra bottle of liquid soap, a small shaving soap and a razor. The bathtub was extremely small and awkward to get into, so in practice it could only really be used as a shower. The towels also did not feel particularly high quality, and the curtains appeared worn, with visible marks and even small holes. None of these issues was disastrous on its own, but taken together they made the room feel rather modest for a hotel marketed as four-star and for the price charged. I have stayed in three-star hotels that offered a noticeably better level of comfort and attention to detail. The breakfast was also excessively expensive for what was offered. We chose instead to have breakfast at nearby cafés, where we could eat very well for less than half the price.

The location was good, about 15 m8 Ute walk to the centre
Rooms was a little dark, it was difficult to get a bright light for putting make up on

Everything was good. The location was great, and the room was clean. The facilities were good, and they had everything I needed, including a fridge and kettle. I especially liked that there was a water dispenser in the hallway, with both cold and room temperature water available. It was very convenient.
