There is no better location in Urbino. The hotel is on the piazza across from the Ducal Palace so you just walk 100 yards and you are there. You can park in the courtyard for 15 euros per night and there is also an elevator. We decided to splash out to have that comfort. The room was spacious and the beds were fine. The desk personel was helpful and informative. Breakfast was copious with a good variety. I would recommend it for the ease, the parking and the location. For the rest, see below.
With a bit of effort this place could be over-the-top fantastic but they are resting on the laurels of their excellent location. It is a shame that they are not doing more with the lobby and long hallway filled with armchairs. It could be a really charming space but instead it's a run down corridor with chairs with a direct view on the parking. Overall the decor is lacking, with out of date floral fabric accents and on the walls of our hallway and in the room the only decor were photocopies of an old optical illusion where you either see an old woman or a young woman, plus some corny sayings in Italian. The same stuff in the room as in the hall. Come on, for 200 euros per night you can do better. I also felt that for the price of the room they could include the breakfast (11 euros per person). I went to the cafe down the street and had a coffee and a croissant for 1.80 euros.

The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of the city, just in front of Palazzo Ducale.
The hotel would need a renovation to be considered a 4 stars hotel. Furniture are very old as well as room decorations. The shower does not work well. The fridge was locked and not possible to use. A lot of disorder in the common area. It's ok for one night if you are passing by and want to have an overview of the city in one afternoon/evening by but not for longer stay.
