Great location, awesome breakfasts but beds could be better.

Breakfast was amazing!! Staff were very friendly. Room was a decent size.

Beds were so hard and uncomfortable, pillows had no substance to them. Very hot at night but couldn’t open any windows as there were mosquitoes.

Great atmosphere, beautiful area, slightly overpriced and small room with no AC

The location was absolutely beautiful, and the hotel has a very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

When I made the booking, I marked that I didn't want breakfast and never got any. I was charged for it nonetheless.

A beautiful hotel let down by inhospitable staff and not dog-friendly in practice

Location great, property nice and authentic

In spite of being a dog friendly hotel we were made to feel extremely unwelcome the first evening when sitting on the outside terrace with our dogs by a senior member of staff. The bar/restaurant waiter was the only one who was engaging and helpful, even though he was very busy. Overall, other staff seemed overstretched and irritated when we asked a question - particularly at breakfast time on our first morning . The ‘dog friendly’ room we were assigned was the furthest most inaccessible room, making it more difficult to manage the dogs and all the extra stuff that goes with travelling with dogs.

Authenticity and refinement in an exquisite family hotel

Simply splendid. We only spent one night at the Hirschen but will definitely return. Everything was fabulous, from the pre-arrival communication via email to our arrival, unforgettable dinner, spacious and peaceful room, showers and bedding, the breakfast buffet (quality, variety, atmosphere of dining area) and swimming pool with the most beautiful views of the neighboring mountains, changing Fall leaves, church tower and vineyards. All in a hotel filled with history and astounding works of Medieval and Baroque art. Our boys are older (11 & 8) and have traveled a good deal. Staying at the Hirschen gave them a taste of the history, art, and culinary culture of the Black Forest region. Thank you for an unforgettable family stay.

it was too warm, nothing the hotel could do about the weather, however the fan in the room only aimed air vertically up, and would turn off if you tried to tilt it, felt like a cruel joke

Excellent dinner and the hotel provided a packed breakfast as I had to leave very early in the morning.

The laminate flooring in the room was very cold when walking around in bare feet.

breakfast was not what expected, very less options, even bread and breakfast provides better breakfast than this hotel. Room was on the ground floor directly on the street very loud. Sauna was always off. In the booking.com booked the room for less price but in reality they charged more. Extra bed was not asked by me but they had already arranged and charged for it. No free mineral water inside the room not even a a half liter. normally in such hotels providing a mineral water is not big deal the way they charge for the room. Overall very disappointed. won’t recommend to anyone who expects value for money.

Excellent and innovative cuisine. Single room facing the park side wonderful and calm. Location good for short and long walks and hikes. Easy to get there and around via train and bus.

Ganz tolle, entspannte Ferien! Sehr gerne wieder!

Frühstück war super! Noch fast nie so eine tolle, vielseite Auswahl erlebt. Auch beim Brot nicht nur die Standard-Brötchen sondern auch gutes, dunkles Vollkorn.

Der Spannteppich im Zimmer. Aber das ist wohl Geschmacksache und Jammern auf hohem Niveau. :-)

Schöne Lage und Einrichtung, gutes Frühstück und Personal.

Aufschlag auf Booking com Preis 24€ für Einzelbett 140cm breit. Dieses war leider bei Bandscheibenproblemen miserabel, sodass ich auf dem Boden schlief.

Fantastische keuken in een heerlijke entourage, prima personeel, heel gastvrij en een mooie prachtig gelegen locatie. Eigen gemaakte wijnen en ook de eigen gedestilleerde sterke dranken zijn zeer de moeite waard…

Logement(bijgebouw) kan misschien weer een upgrade gebruiken. Was schoon, goed maar wat verouderd. Sauna’s waren lauw of erg heet, maar wel keurig en schoon.

Der Teil des Hotels in dem wir untergebracht waren ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Matratzen sind nicht wirklich komfortabel. Alles nicht mehr wirklich zeitgemäß und von 4 Sternen weit entfernt

Tolle Sauna und das Frühstück war klasse - vor allem auch das Frühstückspersonal!

Die Dame an der Rezeption beim Einchecken war nicht sehr freundlich - habe schon wieder deutschen Service befürchtet. Das weitere Personal, vor allem auch die Putzfrau waren jedoch sehr freundlich!
