Excellent location, stylish hotel, lovely garden and pool

The location of La Regalido is excellent as it is central to the pretty and bustling village of Fontvieille. We appreciated being able to stroll to cafés and restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the gardens and pool, which was delightful. Breakfast in the garden each morning was lovely, as was dinner. The food was good and staff were polite.

We felt that although the hotel is styled well that there were issues with poor maintenance. Our room was spacious and nicely dressed but there were several small but annoying issues that were due to poor maintenance. The door to the bathroom did not fit properly and stuck if it was shut. Presumably the cleaners or housekeeper always leave it wide open after cleaning so they probably do not know this. Likewise a handle on a set of drawers came off in our hands on the first day but my husband was able to screw it back on with his pen knife. If fixtures were being checked regularly that would not happen. Most seriously, I was showering one afternoon after a swim and a heavy glass shelf in the shower fell and smashed on the floor of the shower covering my feet in broken glass. I was very shaken up by this although fortunately not cut, and I went to reception to report this. The young lady at the desk was polite and came and cleared it up and was efficient. To our surprise no-one followed up on this incident with an apology or to ask if I was alright after what was an alarming experience which ought not to have happened. The shelf ought to have been so well secured on the wall that it could not possibly fall off. The staff were polite but rather distant we felt. We stayed for seven nights and until the end of our stay staff had to ask who we were and which room we were in. We felt there could have been more interest shown in guests, perhaps a little more warmth and friendliness from them.

A true Provence experience.

Quirky beautiful old converted mill full of nooks and crannies. Excellent staff from start to finish, special shout out to Nicholas who went out of his way to make us welcome.

Nothing, except the tight turn when driving out of the car park, fortunately I had my wife with me who was more than generous with her driving advice!

Beautiful, charming, generous property - feels like a place French people come to stay and relax rather than catering to

Gorgeous property, renovated and up-to-date in the necessary ways and areas while retaining the unique qualities of centuries-old buildings. Lovely rooms, including the restaurant - the food was spectacular - clustered around a sweet pool, which was very social and relaxing. I had delays with my incoming flight and they were very responsive, and even upgraded me at no cost to a bigger room. Similarly when I decided to stay an extra day, they were flexible - even though it was during the high season and the opening week of the Arles photography festival.

The town is adorable and very well located to explore the whole area, but I misjudged the distance to Arles for the festival, and the cabs/ubers ended up being more expensive than I had anticipated. Next time, I will rent a car.

Delicious food, beautiful room, charming staff and convenient to the rest of Provence

GORGEOUS room (we upgraded to a suite), beautiful surroundings, small but tasteful place, amazing food at the restaurant, cute little walkable village and just outside you see the landscapes that Van Gogh painted, almost exactly as they were. Great hub for seeing the rest of Provence -- we took day trips to Arles (our favorite), Pont du Gare, St. Remy, les Baux de Provence. The staff was absolutely lovely.

Our room was divine but the place was small, which meant only a few people could be at the pool (which is much smaller than it appears in pictures) without feeling crowded. Great value by American standards but comparably expensive, especially when taking into account other places nearby that we did not know about when we booked it. Still, so pretty and delicious food and exceptionally nice staff made it worth it.

The older areas are Not 4 stars.

Decor and carpets felt very tired. Shower leaked all over the floor, our door lock broke such that they had to change the locks. The roof terrace was peeling and dirty, dead plants. The room Had a very Unkept feel and a bizarre extra shower through another door to the roof terrace. It just needs a bit of tlc and it could be lovely. Electrics could do with an upgrade as not enough plugs in the room and switches look like they’re from the 1950s which was disconcerting.

Good place for a short stay if you don’t mind a small room

It’s located in a nice village and the hotel itself is nice.

The room especially the bathroom was quite small. Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in the room as we spent most of our time visiting. The cleaning was a bit random (we didn’t get a refill of our water nor shower gel).

Not worth the price nor stars - but excellent massage

Excellent massage - would possibly even travel back for that, but would stay elsewhere. Aircon was working - I guess that is worth something though hard to turn down.

Vastly overpriced for what it offers. Would have been OK at half the price but did not meet expectations from star ratings. Everything is charged extra from parking (vs. lots avaialble for free on the street outside, which they do not mention when you book), to paltry breakfast ofr €23 p.p.. Bathroom straight out of the sixties, mouldy shower tiles and not enough water pressure - literally a trickle. Unacceptable in today's times and again in that category of star rating. And the "spa" is one broken jaccuzzi (out of order). I purposefuly booked a superior room with view or terrace: the view was of the car park, and the terrace was an uninviting square in full sun and off the bathroom with two rusty metal chairs... Wifi is poor too, had to switch it off to use mobile data as not strong enough signal nor fast enough. I would have mentioned all of this on check-out but there was only one inexperienced young trainee on site at the time.

I could not recommend this hotel.

One member of staff was particularly helpful and when I asked if they did laundry she took it from me and she did it herself, and returned quickly and didn't charge me.

I couldn't believe that in this town, car parking was generally free, but the hotel wanted 20 Euros per day so we parked on the street. The hotel car park was empty most of the time we were there and it seemed petty not to let us park on site. We thought the radiators didn't work and our room was very cold, we were leant a portable heater which helped a bit but having a shower was quick the bathroom was so cold. There were very few people in the hotel until our last day when several more people arrived and all the radiators then came on. On check out I was asked if all was ok and I said it was cold and the answer was 'what do you expect, its an old house?' The restaurant was only open one of the 4 nights we were there and the food was awful, the soup tasted like melted 'nutella', thick, luke warm and congealed.

Lovely boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed, excellent linen. Bathroom, a little tired but perfectly acceptable. Dinner was superb; charming service, great food and good local wines. Breakfast was also lovely.

Fantastic stay

Everything was fantastic! Breakfast choice was excellent with eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries etc. The room was huge as was the bathroom. There is limited seating around the pool and sun exposure but the place is so peaceful. The restaurant food was delicious although there was not a lot of choice. The thing that really made the difference was the staff who was just wonderful, discreet but helpful and always with a smile. We loved our stay.

I forgot my white gold custom made earrings on the silver plate that was under the lamp on the bed side table. We called the hotel just few hours after but they didn’t find them. That’s a total shame for the hotel. The owner said she trusts her cleaning staff.. That’s not a nice answer to hear. We are very disappointed! Be careful to not to forget nothing in this hotel…

We really enjoyed our stay at Regalido, hope to be able to go back at some point.

The room was spacious and very clean, nice design and the kids were happy to have a little corner of their own. I highly recommend the dinner, the atmosphere in the garden is super relaxing and the food was amazing.

For breakfast I would prefer to have more options, for 2 days is ok but for a longer stay I would need something more.

Wonderful retreat to visit the Provence!

We have traveled to La Regalido for the third time because the experience is exceptional! Wonderful Villa with a nice garden and pool and beautifully furnished rooms. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast and dinner is superb.

an overall enjoyable stay in a beautiful hotel and surroundings

The hotel is beautiful, secluded but close to the Main Street and amenities and restaurants etc. A beautiful pool and beautiful rustic decor.

I feel it’s standard to have some complimentary water in your room - if not each day at the very least on the day of arrival. I haven’t experienced anything different before. This wasn’t the case and not all rooms had mini bars. Also, no jug of water offered or available when ordering food from the hotel kitchen for breakfast/lunch or dinner. In our 4 day experience, the majority of the staff that we interacted with were very polite and accommodating, certain French speaking staff members were less pleasant and polite.
