Amazing early 70s architecture, with well-preserved original interior design. While some privately owned apartments have been less carefully altered, mine was impeccably maintained and elegantly preserved. The apartment offers rare spatial quality, and the balconies are thoughtfully designed to balance sunlight and shade. All units enjoy some form of sea view, regardless of layout or orientation.
The mattresses were extremely comfortable, and daily cleaning was included.
Pets are allowed - an especially welcome and forward-thinking policy.
The staff were excellent throughout.
The internet was generally good, but could be improved - at times it became slow or unreliable, which may be an issue if you need to work.
A few additional small appliances would be welcome in the apartment. While some can be requested at reception, having to return them daily is inconvenient - items such as a hair dryer and kettle would be especially useful.
If you are looking for quietness - avoid July and August - as Monte Gordo is full of life and several bars have loud music at night.

Location and sea view
Kitchen was not suitable to cook meals. Probably could do with a better stove and an electric kettle. The couch wasn’t very comfortable.
