On of the best accommodations I have ever used for a holiday.

Our hosts left eggs, milk, bread , cheese, cakes and other items, all locally produced and all of high quality which made for excellent breakfasts. The Huts were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The view from our Hut was quite beautiful, and the location made an excellent base for exploring the local archaeological sites, the main purpose of our visit. Parking was easy. The location strikes the perfect balance between quiet, and ease of access to main roads. As a birdwatcher, I was particularly pleased with the provision of birdfood with which to fill the feeders. I enjoyed watching the bird visitors and counted 11 species, one of which I had never seen before. There was also a bat which entertained us at dusk. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, friendly and courteous, and our stay was most enjoyable. I would certainly visit again, and recommend the Huts to anyone intending to stay in Northumberland.

The oven instructions proved impossible to master; tv reception is patchy. Neither thing adversely affected our stay. We ate out or cooked simple meals, and we did not arrange our stay to watch television.

Hut perfection

Attention to detail is second to none, the hut was spotless and immaculately presented. We could not fault the communication, location and comfort. The baskets of goodies left for us to enjoy were something extra special. A wonderful break. Perfect.

Lovely huts in a stunning location.

The location was lovely, the views across to the hills were amazing. The area the huts are in is secluded well set out & beautifully maintained. The hut itself was immaculate. Everything had been thought of & the homemade goodies, farm eggs & local produce on arrival was a lovely touch.

Wonderful breakfast hamper with extra treats like a little bottle of sparkling wine and a Valentines Day cake. Really warm-hearted hospitality.

We'd have loved a real log burner. But that's just a personal preference and we loved the place.

Very clean, homely and convenient location. Lovely welcome pack, kindly made vegan on request. Super comfortable bed and generally very well equipped (nice telescope!)

Good accommodation and a great location for exploring historic sites and the wilds of Northumberland

Good location with nice views from an elevated position. Easy to find. Lovely welcome pack on arrival including home-made goodies. Clean and fairly comfortable with a full bath, heating and washing machine. Other facilities on site including secure storage and drying room. Wifi worked well and the kitchen was well-equipped. Nicely decorated with local fabrics. Plenty of info on how appliances etc. worked. Outdoor sitting area and on-site parking. Close to Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and several other sites of interest. Good quality accommodation and value for money.

Found bed and pillows were a bit hard (though sustainably made). Some road noise from the A69 which is only about 1/2 mile away. Smell from septic tank in the mornings. Parking and turning a bit tight when all three units are occupied. Missing a butter knife or similar.

Wonderful secluded break

Lovely cozy hut, away from it all - small but thoughtfully arranged with everything we needed. Fantastic welcome food - fresh eggs, cheese, bacon, milk & orange juice plus homemade bread, cake, scones, jam, marmalade plus butter - amazing & delicious- we really enjoyed our break - lots to see & do - Sci-Fri museum & a musical in Newcastle to name but two!!! 😀😀

Tranquil Haven

These charming properties are set in a beautiful location with wonderful views and are ideal for visiting the local area, particularly Hadrians’s Wall, The Sill and Vindolanda. The array of tasty homemade & locally produced treats were a very welcome surprise (thank you Helen) and the range of equipment, bedding, toiletries and printed information provided by the hosts are excellent; strategically placed bird feeders also provide endless opportunity to watch an array of birds dropping by from dawn ‘til dusk (binoculars kindly provided too)

A week in the sun

Helen and Damian were excellent hosts. It was clear they’d really put a lot of thought into what people might need whilst on holiday. Nice welcome pack, good storage for your bikes, very comfy bed, fully stocked kitchen. Even ability to use Netflix!! Great location for walking and cycling. Thoroughly recommend it.

The perfect short stay in superb accommodation located in beautiful countryside.

The accomodation was fantastic and spotlessly clean and we wanted for nothing. It is located in the countryside with beautiful views but not so isolated that we too far away from amenities. The host was spot on and very helpful.

Everything! Helen was very helpful and stayed in contact, the welcome pack was full of gorgeous local foods that lasted us the whole stay, and the friendly pheasants visiting were lovely!

It's not often that you find the perfect holiday accommodation but the Hideaway Huts came close! We were comfortable and cosy and very relaxed. There was nothing we would have changed!
