This is a lovely place to stay on the Karikari peninsula. The place feels like a little oasis, was very clean, and full of personal touches. Paul and Catalina were very kind and even shared their paua fritters with us on arrival! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Karikari peninsula!

The room was spacious, clean, neat, and tidy.
We were not greeted by the hosts themselves but by a third person who immediately asked us for payment, even though we hadn't yet placed our luggage in the room. This felt inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. Not quite what we would expect from a lodge. That aside, our hosts were friendly.
I personally found the common areas cluttered with too many objects, leaving little room to make the space my own.
What was most uncomfortable was sharing the bathroom and other common areas with a group of workers, although they were polite, as the only female guest in an exclusively male environment. The parking is also tight, requiring some coordination to leave the property.
Overall, the stay went well, but it was not entirely comfortable.
