Velebit is a home to numerous plant and animal species, some of which are endemic, so it comes as no surprise that the mountain comprises the Northern Velebit National Park and the Nature Park Velebit. The latter is where our vacation house is situated. Primordial, untouched beaches in the near vicinity of our vacation house "Kod Jose i Mare" will help you relax your body and mind. Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of Velebit and experience the very best of Croatia - pristine beaches and exciting hiking trails
Whether you prefer an active vacation or a more relaxing one, here you will find everything you need. Swimming, walking, hiking, biking or a visit to nearby islands and villages could serve as a perfect solution for daytime activities, and in the evening, enjoy the relaxing silence and the incredible view of the night sky. We assure you that you will never find a place with this many stars in the sky. Dare to count them all!
The village of Alan is 17 km away from our vacation house, and you can reach it by driving up a non-steep paved road. There is a mountain house where you can take a short break and then continue exploring Velebit and its nature on foot or by bikes. Also, an amazing viewpoint will give you a breathtaking view over the surrounding islands. Only 6 km from our house one can come across Jablanac, a picturesque fishermen village with a lovely beach and a restaurant. From there, one of the most beautiful inlets, Zavratnica, is within walking distance. The above-mentioned inlet belongs to the Nature Park Velebit and is under special protection due to its natural significance. You can also hit the beach in Stinica, 5 km away, where you can find a small store and a charming restaurant. Stinica is mostly known as a ferry port from where you can take a ferry to get to the island of happiness - Rab. The island of Pag is reachable by ferry in Prizna, a small place 10 km away. Bigger places in the area include Karlobag, 20 km away, and Senj (40 km). Both cities have many stores, restaurants, a post office, a police station and a doctor's office. There is no public transportation available, so having a personal vehicle is mandatory. A private parking space is provided.

Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Suzy et Marijane et leur fils Denis. Un accueil que nous avons beaucoup apprécié et avec des petites attentions à notre égard (plateau de charcuterie et de fromage, pastèque, eau, vin, bière...) et après 1500km, ça fait plaisir.
La maison est très agréable et comporte tout ce qu'il faut, la climatisation est bien appréciée l'été, la douche extérieure est très agréable aussi. Le jardin est bien clôturé.
La vue sur l'île de Rab est splendide, et offre des couleurs différentes chaque jour, on ne se lasse pas de regarder cette vue. Des couchers de soleil à couper le souffle. L'endroit est très calme et la petite route est très peu fréquentée.
La maison est située tout près du parc du Vélébit qui est à visiter. La mer est proche (Jablanac ou Stinica), la ville de Senj est à voir, et l'île de Rab est un incontournable.
Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances et les Croates sont très accueillants, il faut y aller sans hésiter, et en plus le pays est magnifique.

A wonderful place with a wonderful view. So calm and beautifully located - the ocean in front of you and the velebit national park above you. Perfekt for all kind of activities. All was very clean and super equiped. Just an amazing little place on earth!
