We have a no sand in the house policy. Everyone must use the outdoor shower after coming from the beach.
Please do not update the thermostat it will cause the air conditioner to not work and the breaker will need to be reset.
Please leave throws tucked in back of couch in place to protect it. There are other throws on couch to use. The new couch is made of polypropylene which is practically 100% stain resistant . Just dabbing with lukewarm water should be fine. A drop or 2 of dishwashing liquid in the water if needed. No hot water. No rubbing/scrubbing, no brushing just dabbing. Do not use brush attachments when vacuuming.
• Feel free to use house phone for local and unlimited long distance calls at no charge. No international calls.
• Trash and recycling pick-up on MONDAY. Leave barrels at curb on Sunday after 3 PM and no later than Monday 5:30 AM. Replace barrels beside porch after pick-up, NO LATER than 7:00 PM Monday. The borough actually issues tickets if trash containers are put out too early or removed from curb too late. All paper, cardboard, cans, bottles, and plastics 1-7 must be recycled in the large Blue recycling can. You may be taking out previous tenant’s trash, but someone will be doing this for you. Thank you!
• Cushions for covered porch furniture are in entry closet.
• Mattress cover and pillows for ground floor futon are in the first floor bedroom closet. (The bedroom with the queen bed)
• We have a tankless water heater so hot water takes a long time to start. Don’t give up, the hot water will come.
• Please hand-wash wooden utensils and knives with wooden handles.
• Whirlpool tub on third floor can be used, but the pump motor does not operate.
• Please avoid bringing sand in the house. Use outdoor shower when returning from beach. The shower has low faucets for just washing feet.
• Irrigation is set for every-other-day mid-morning, 45 minutes. The faucet and valve to the irrigation timer have zip ties to prevent accidental closure. Please turn off the black valve to the hose when not in use, to avoid blowing out the hose.
• Do not lower air conditioning thermostat below 73 degrees during high humidity, or the air handler will freeze and require defrosting

• There are 4 full-season beach tags for Cape May Point on kitchen window sill. PLEASE return these when you leave or you will be charged for new tags which cost $100 each. Tags are required from Memorial Day until Labor Day. Children under 12 are free. Cape May city beaches use separate beach tags. Lighthouse Beach State Park is free, with hiking trails, but no swimming is permitted, just wading. Higbee Beach State Park (on Delaware Bay) is also free.
• If you use the outdoor gas grill, close the valve on the propane tank when done. The igniter may not work so use long lighter at right side opening to start. One of these lighters should be located in kitchen island drawer.
• Portable Bluetooth radio available on kitchen counter- hold blue tooth button to sync with device
• Internet and TV is provided through T-Mobile streaming YouTube tv and Blu-Ray DVD player available downstairs as well
• Fire extinguisher on kitchen counter.
• Futon in sitting room next to kitchen is very difficult to open and close, so we have not counted this as bed space.
• Washer and dryer in closet next to kitchen. Use very little detergent as this is high efficiency. If using your own pour the detergent directly into tub as it is difficult to access the dispenser cup. We also supply pods, please only 1 per load .
When Leaving…
Please run and empty dishwasher
Please put trash in outdoor trash cans located far side of the outdoor shower.
The housekeepers have a limited amount of time to prepare the house for the next guests so it is greatly appreciated.
• Summer: Set thermostat to 75 degrees COOL with fan “on”. Leave all ceiling fans on “low” and bedroom doors open for ventilation. Close windows and lower shades. Leave sliding door to enclosed porch open about 6 inches for some ventilation.
• Winter: Set thermostat to 55 degrees HEAT with fan “on”. Leave all ceiling fans on “low” and bedroom doors open for ventilation. Close windows and lower shades.
• Leave door to washing machine open to dry.
• Turn off faucet for outdoor hose.
• Leave beach tags in bowl on window sill over kitchen sink
• Bathroom light dimmer switch on first floor should be fully OFF
