How it had kept its old charm.
Carpet was very old so floor was cold.

Booked in here for one night as I was passing through from Tekapo to Dunedin. It is a very traditional B&B in what was once, I think, quite a grand house. It is a little dated but the host Roger was very welcoming. My room had a fridge, microwave, TV, kettle and heaters. Breakfast is included and is in a shared, sunny, guest lounge, toast, cereal, yoghurt. I was the only person staying. The bed was super comfortable and the electric blanket worked well, which was great as I did find the room quite chilly, there was an electric radiator that was on full all night but the size of the room, the ceiling height and lack of insulation around the historic windows meant it was a little cold. I was worried in a house that age that the plumbing might not be up to it, but the shower was the hottest and strongest that I have had in New Zealand so far!

Friendly staff. Roger made sure to speak to us by name and was pleased to share his home with us. Excellent continental breakfast supplied.
