Great staff ,Great food.

Staff are always excellent, beds very comfortable and a lovely breakfast.

My room was quite noisy, smokers outside the window talking until 11pm, and even though not a busy road i was worken by a large vehicle at both 1.25 and 5am. Who ever was in the room opposite mine were extremely inconsiderate by not attempting to close there door quietly later at night and at 6 something in the morning.

Lovely room, very comfortable bed, excellent food

Courtyard lights excessive and on all night. No curtains, only shutters which let the light in - so bring an eye mask if it’s going to bother you!!

Room was freezing when first entered , then you needed a science degree to operate the room stat .. I do understand the need to save money not heating an empty room, but would have been good to have it on knowing it was booked out

We love it at the Packhorse Inn and have stayed a number of times when visiting family nearby. Our first choice of stay

The location by the village green is great for dog walks. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and dog friendly. Beds are very comfortable and food great.

A couple of maintenance issues required and bedrooms and bathrooms can be too hot.

Lovely stay, staff were excellent

Lovely pub with great breakfast and dinner. Staff were super friendly and decorated our room for my partners birthday which was really thoughtful. Cheap electric charger in car park.

Our room was next to the door where customers entered the pub through the car park. Late at night when people left it was quite noisy as people were shouting/speaking loudly.

I really enjoyed my stay.

It's one of my favourite places to stay. The rooms are beautiful clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. I think this was the third time I have stayed here and each time it's been lovely hence why I keep coming back!

The staff were excellent. We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good. The service was excellent.

The staff were very good (Hannah particularly) and we enjoyed a very good dinner and service was great.

The room (Kennet) was not as advertised and I was led to believe it was an ‘overflow’ room with single beds. The wash basin was cracked and there was only 1 x bedside lamp without a bulb. There was no air conditioning.

One night stay in a very lovely room!

A very smart establishment. Rather than a 'room in a pub', I found myself in a beautifully decorated and spacious bedroom, with nice toiletries, a super 'tea tray' and a very comfy bed! And the bathroom was amazing. Huge with a free standing bath, big shower, loads of towels, lovely decor. Unfortunately I arrived quite late and had to leave early the next day, so was not able to enjoy much time at this lovely inn, but I know where it is now! The breakfast was excellent. The staff on arrival and at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Perfect!

Exceptionally presented, superb restaurant with appealing menu, great breakfast and idyllic, peaceful location by village green. Also, good bar with great local beers

Absolutely first class stay in a classic English country inn

Delightful rooms in the Barn. Lends itself really well to group stays across multiple rooms. The food at the Packhorse is among the best I’ve had at English country pubs. We stayed the night before our wedding in a nearby venue and hosted a welcome drinks in the main pub building - the catering and staff was excellent throughout those drinks too. The staff are attentive and professional but also very laid back and relaxed - great combination. Well done and thank you

Disappointing as it is a lovely pub and location

The room was lovely, bright, fresh and clean. The shower was really good too.

The service was quite bad. We had to wait a long time for our food and drinks. The service at the bar was really slow too. I know it was busy but was a shame to wait so long. Also the table outside was really dirty.

Lovely stay, great food and service at a price level that is very fair for the quality and beyond expectations. I arrived late and they could not be more helpful with a late food order and great service. Breakfast too was plentiful and the room clean and very comfortable.

Nothing but .... - Could do with some hooks in the bathroom - Breakfast (cooked) was nice but felt they'd over complicated it (fancy beans and scrambled eggs are a little runny - for my liking) But these are small points and we'd definitely return!

Idyllic

Such a warm welcome from staff to this beautiful inn.. Bedroom and bathroom were both spacious and well appointed.All aspects were lovely,..even the view from the windows show an idyllic scene. The little village and church are delightful and well worth a look while you're there.

Room over the kitchen had a warm floor - I thought they had under floor heating on initially! The room was way to hot to be in, let alone sleep but I called out around 11:30pm and staff which were up kindly allowed me to change room. It was (I must add) the hottest day so far of the year. I was given a cooler more spacious room. Apparently the room over the kitchen is lovely during the winter.

Asked for a quiet room, first room was above the kitchen, incredibly noisy, asked to moved and was put in a room out in the car park which even worse, not the place to stay if you’re hoping to sleep!

Check in was slow as there only seemed to be one person looking after the bar and everything else. Would have preferred proper shower, rather than bath in room - although that may have been me not reading details properly. But be careful
