MO River House Luxury Villa

The manager team was so friendly and lovely, we loved this place so much

This place is truly exceptional. It is set in a gorgeous location, with monkeys in the trees and a beautiful setting overlooking a lake. The house is gorgeously decorated, the rooms excellent sizes and the air conditioning perfect. The pool is also divine! What really makes this place though are the staff, who live in a house in the garden. They are all absolutely lovely and so welcoming. It's really like being part of a warm family. A delicious breakfast is included but we also chose to have lunch and dinner at the property most days as the food was amazing and such good value. The wonderful Indunil and his wife Rasika prepared the food. The house and gardens were spotless thanks to the wonderful housekeeper and gardener Varuni and Saman. Lasith, the villa manager, was also incredibly helpful and kind, finding my son some cricket training, organising transport into Colombo to watch the cricket world cup and advice on excellent local restaurants and surfing. He was brilliant. We were genuinely incredibly sad to leave this place and I know we will return. It is quite literally the best place we've ever stayed, and we have stayed in properties all over the world. We're now in a 5* hotel in Colombo as we wait for our plane, but we all miss the MO house so much!! Thank you so much for looking after us so wonderfully! Debs, James, Rosie and Harry xx

Beautiful house, perfectly located by a lake and just walking distance from the beach. The staff are incredibly friendly. Special mention to Duresh, who made sure everything was perfect.

We will treasure very much the two days spent at this tranquil and spectacularly beautiful lakeside oasis. Waking to the down chorus from the wildlife, bathing in the most beautifl pool and feasting on such an incredibly flavour filled breakfast will remain an everlasting memory that we will savour again and again!
