Great location and great staff offering clean rooms and good food.

Location and staff!

bathroom (toilet area was too small) you had to squeze yourself into the room. The shower / bathtub set-up was weird, the legnth of the shower prevetion glass wall was too small and always allowed water to fall directly on the floor or required me to sit in the tub to shower myself, carefully.

Comfortable stay in a prime location

We stayed in the Pavillon just across the road from the main hotel in a beautiful old building right on the river. The main facilities are in the hotel although there was a small seating area downstairs. A lift served all floors. We were on the 4th floor which gave good views of the city and river, including the swing bridge. The room was huge and tastefully decorated. There was a mini-bar, TV and and ironing board in the wardrobe. The bathroom was large and decorated in a modern style. The toilet and shower were behind doors in the bathroom. We heard no noise with the windows shut. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel.

Location

The beds are very uncomfortable. I asked for a king bed, it was two single beds put together. The bedside reading light switch was broken. I had to wrap the light with a piece of clothing so I can sleep. The breakfast service was horrible. I had to get up twice to walk to the waitress to order my coffee and hot breakfast. The front desk person was absent minded. The credit card machine is very old and did not take my HSBC master card. I checked with the bank and was told that the establishment has been listed on a warning list.

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location

The location is beautiful and in easy walking distance of major landmarks. The views and the history are charming. It was a wonderful experience.

While I applaud water saving features, the low pressure shower was really terrible. The shower head was too close to the wall and with the low flow of water it was hard to wash properly. Because of the low flow it was hard to adjust the water temperature because each change took ages to register. Despite this, I would book here again because it is so lovely in every other way.

I must stay no questions asked Strasbourg is a gorgeous city

Absolutely everything please. If you get the chance stay in the old pavilion. The rooms are so fantastic and a beautifully modernised in such a gorgeous building. The staff are insanely super helpful and just warm all around.

Honestly, nothing I couldn’t really fault it. No teething problems. No issues. Just fantastic all round.

Outstanding hotel..

The hotel is located in Petit France which is perfect for staying in Strasbourg. With it being our Wedding Anniversary, the hotel left us a very kind message and a bottle of bubbly in our room on our arrival. The bedroom had fantastic A/C. And the bed was SUPER comfortable. When in Strasbourg, we will definitely return to this hotel.

Be Careful with This one - Great Location, but...

Check-in desk staff and reception staff very friendly, personable. Outside seating for breakfast area is nice. Location of hotel is great for the area.

Room was in separate building (unexpected). Had to carry our own luggage down street. Housekeeping service was minimal. Floors not cleaned. Bathroom/Shower supplies. No shower gel/shampoo on arrival. No hand soap available. Breakfast minimal selection for price (68 EU), poor value. Elevator intermittent outages. Expensive room prices for quality of accommodation.

A great stay in a great location

The room with perfect aircon as soon as I walked in, perfect decor, location of the property and Claire the receptionist was amazing, very enthusiastic and an asset to the hotel, after directions from Tom Tom and iPhone sat nav that I got the address from booking.com took me to a car park on the other side of the canal, tried to pay with card and cash but nothing so tried to pay with apps which one of the three they use allowed me pay, that took 30 minutes to finally pay standing there like a idiot setting the trip off to be a disaster and getting annoyed with the situation, I finally got to the hotel and Claire greeted me and the annoyance disappeared straight away, made the whole trip much much better, she gave me the address on the iPhone maps and got me there straight away 😃, wish I had stayed longer

The hot water took a little time to warm up, maybe the water pressure isn’t the best in the area but didn’t make the trip any less great

Air conditioning was not great. Old system with no temperature setting & generally took until 4 am to cool the room. Problem on arrival due to address to access being different to the actual accommodation. This needs to be fixed- wasted an hour calling them & not getting any coherent response. Need to put in the app where hotel reception is & that you need to go there first. Very annoying. Staff were good once sorted it out.

Costly but lovely

A lovely, if costly little hotel occupying simply the best spot in Strasbourg: on the canals, at the very heart of the magical old town that is straight out of a brothers Grimm tale, yet within easy walking distance of everything... The rooms are pleasant and blend well modern aesthetics and comfort with the ancient building. The "Pavillon" is probably a better option than the homonymous (minus the "Pavillion") main building thats a stone's throw away and houses the reception, bar, restaurant and tiny spa/gym.

Temperamental centraly controled air conditioning makes staying in spring and autumn a bit of a hit-and miss, as it can make rooms uncomfortably warm if the weather doesnt agree with the settings. Still overall this is a relatively minor, if occasionally annoying, issue. This also a fairly expensive hotel by Strasbourg standards but if your travel budger can take the hit it is well worth the cost

the lighting in the bathroom was so poor I could not see properly to do my makeup. The lighting created dark shadows over my face. There were no other mirrors in the room and no full length mirror.
