Playa de Oro Lodge

Food was delicious! Fresh juices and fruit daily; soup at first course was always stellar; breakfast was good; meals well prepared; reception area has a large flat screen for watching the latest soccer matches and well stocked bar; staff was friendly and helpful. Very remote.

Complimentary shampoo and conditioner not included; fortunately, I had brought some; neighboring bars played music 24/7 loudly on the weekend;

The lodge is located in Playa Huína, close to Bahía Solano. We were picked up at the airport in Bahía Solano by a driver who drove us to the port and we were then transported to Playa Huína by boat. All perfectly arranged by the accommodation! The lodge is on a quite beach, surrounded by the jungle, the ocean and the modest houses of the villagers who live there. It’s really the perfect place to escape from everything and everyone. We were able to go diving and we did an excursion to playa de los deseos, booked via the lodge. Both are highly recommended! The staff at the lodge is really amazing and really wants to make you feel at home. The hotel manager, Eduardo, is a wonderful guy. He is extremely friendly, attentive, helpful, funny and he made us some / a lot of delicious cocktails (plus he’s a real magician with cards!). We would definitely recommend this place if you’re going to this area!

-No diving center (however this was written on the webpage). A very good alternative is Ankla Azul in Bahia Solano. -Too much fried food
