Calm, beautiful garden view

The Dongjiao State Guest Hotel consists of a number of separate 4 story buildings on a 100 acres of well-maintained grounds. The hotel is a little farther out than the assembly line convention towers and we were surprised by the resort layout. The attentive staff accommodates those in a hurry by shuttling them between buildings in electric golf carts. The interiors are impressive, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is outstanding. But unquestionably, the best part of staying here in August was getting up early to stroll the grounds, savoring the serene beauty and sounds of the beautiful garden acreage. It is a wonderful way to prepare for a long day in the bustling people mountain and people sea of Shanghai.

Beautiful grounds wonderful buildings and great room
NO English speaking staff except one young receptionist. The staff did not offer help as I old have expected. More like the old China instead of the new.
