Villa Lumières

Isabelle, the lovely owner and operator, of this beautiful villa, is marvellous. From her warm welcome, to all the useful ideas on how to structure our time in the area including which markets to get to on the right days, to her fabulous cooking. Warning: If you book in for one of her amazing dinners, have a very light lunch, or no lunch beforehand. The food is local, delicious and her servings are enormous. The meals while we were there were complimented with aperitifs, followed by local Ventoux red and white wines and finally her after dinner treat of a shot of rum with a choice of fruit flavourings. You can feel the love in this charming oasis. Isabella is also an artist and has travelled extensively. This is reflected in how beautifully she has decorated the villa. The other really memorable thing is, that over the 3 days we were there, we got to know some of the other guests really well over the breakfasts and dinners. So much so, that when I'd left some gear behind by mistake, new French friends we'd met there, went out of their way to get the things back to me. It was such a wonderful stay!

Perfectly located to explore the Luberon valley. The house is beautiful and very well built, so it stays cool even when it’s very hot outside, but there’s also air conditioning if you want it a bit cooler. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a lovely terrace. The garden is a lush oasis and the pool was very much appreciated after the hot days out exploring. Isabelle is the perfect host and an amazing cook; she went above and beyond to make sure that we had an amazing time and helped us to plan our days in the area. Dinner was delicious and a great chance to get to know the other guests and Isabelle. Breakfast was very generous and delicious with homemade jams and yogurt and a selection of fantastic local cheeses. Our stay at Villa Lumières was the highlight of our trip to France and Italy and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Good location to see surrounding Luberon area. Airconditioned room was cute and comfortable. Pool was an unexpected bonus. It was really nice to come back in the afternoon for a dip to cool off. Breakfast was above and beyond. In addition, we ordered dinner. I have never ordered dinner at my accommodation before. But Isabella made a home cooked dinner for us from local farmed products. I have to say the salad was the best salad I have ever had. Best of all, Isabella was very accessible. We enjoyed several conversations with her.

Isabelle was absolutely wonderful! She made what was already a great stay even better. She was always super nice and helpful, offering suggestions for our visits. The place is super comfortable, the house is spacious and the garden is wonderful. The pool was amazing, especially with the heat we had at the time. Would absolutely go again.

Not much really. The breakfast was light which was fine for us but some people might expect more food.
