宿泊するだけでご利益が有りました🙏

若女将、大女将さんがとても優しくてフレンドリーでした。お料理も大変美味しく、お腹いっぱいになりました。朝も夜も風情のある佇まいのお宿で、お風呂の湯船は広くて気持ちがよかってです（酒樽だそうです！）。エアコンは効くので、温度での不便さは感じませんでした。武蔵御嶽神社への参拝、御岳山や周囲の山々に登る前に、地図をくださったり、天候に応じたアドバイスなどもしてくださり、雨の中でしたがとても安心して山歩きを楽しめました。ありがとうございました。

建物は古いので、ドアの開閉でやや音が鳴ります。トイレは共用でした（4つあるので安心でした）。

Amazing place with lovely staff

Everything was excellent. Staff was really nice. Wonderful facilities. Delicious dinner. Public bathroom 😍. The room gives your the right vibes and you feel like in old Japan. Bed was very cosy.

Wunderbare, traditionelle Unterkunft auf dem Berg.

Die traditionelle Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Natur unterhalb des Schreins auf dem Mitakesan. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, geräumig und mit einem kleinen Balkon. Das Bad konnte ich alleine nutzen. Es gab ein sehr leckeres Abendessen und Frühstück, alles frisch zubereitet. Die Gastfamilie war ausgesprochen nett. Am nächsten Morgen konnte ich an einer shintoistischen Zeremonie im Schrein teilnehmen.

Un séjour relaxant dans une auberge traditionnelle dans un cadre naturel et spirituel.

Auberge familiale. Personnel très accueillant et dévoué. Le cadre est apaisant et le bain traditionnel proposé par les hôtes est très apaisant et revigorant. Le repas du soir et du matin sont une belle expérience de cuisine traditionnelle japonaise, de multiples petits plats délicats. Un bon séjour pour se relaxer au contact de la nature pas très loin de Tokyo.

Lors de mon séjour le village de Mitake donnait l’impression d’être un peu défraîchi et en voie de déclin démographique et infrastructurel. Ce qui d’un côté peut ajouter au charme, mais les bâtisses méritent d’être rafraîchies.

お風呂が時間ごとに入浴なんですが、前の方がマナーを知らない方のようで、桶が湯船に浮いたままだったり、タオルが散乱していたりと…そこが気になりました。

Hidden Gem in the Mountains – A Soulful Stay at Komadori-sanso

I had an incredible stay at Shukubo Komadori-sanso (駒鳥山荘). As a foreign traveler, I was touched by the warmth and hospitality of the owner (Especially Hakura and Family), who made me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. The meals were absolutely amazing—authentic Japanese cuisine that felt both home-cooked and refined. Every dish was a highlight of the day. This is a perfect place for solo travelers who want to hike daily—there are countless trails and mountains right at your doorstep. That said, be prepared for a steep climb to get here. It's a bit of a workout, but absolutely worth it for the views and the peaceful, authentic atmosphere. Pro tip: don’t bring a trolley bag like I did! Bring a backpack instead—it’s clearly stated in the booking info (which I missed), and it makes the climb much more manageable. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future. Highly recommended for anyone seeking nature, solitude, and authentic Japanese hospitality.

とても暖かいおもてなしを受ける事が出来ました。お食事も美味しく、お風呂もゆったり過ごす事ができました。細部にまで気配りの行き届いた素敵なお宿で、気持ちよく過ごさせて頂きました。

お風呂は時間制でした。シャワーはいつでも入れた様ですが、それを知ったのは翌日でした。チェックインの時に教えて頂ければ、チェックイン時からさっぱり出来たのにと思いました。

部屋、食事、浴室、サービス、ロケーションのいずれもよく、最良の休日をすごすことができました。館内に宿坊の神殿もあり、武蔵御嶽神社の御札と御守りも授けて頂けました。夕食後に御札のことを依頼すると、夜間は神様もお休みになっていいるとのことで、御札は翌朝のお祈り後に授けていただきました。とてもよい山の気を受け、リフレッシュできました。

An authentic & beautiful experience at a 200 years old inn managed by priest’s family

The property is a 200 year old inn but maintained really well and equipped with modern amenities to ensure guests’ comfort, in a beautiful and quiet environment. The hosts were very sweet, friendly, helpful, and responsive. The dinner was amazingly prepared by the host. The onsen which can be booked privately was also really great. Overall I had a really memorable stay and would love to come again.

Best stay we could have asked for on top of Mitakesan 😊

Breakfast and Dinner was amazing, more traditional (and healthy) than what you'd expect in city hotels. The view was great. Both the room and the outside terrace area has a nice forest + Yokohama view at night if you're lucky! The bath is great with an option for private if you'd prefer. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. I wish we stayed longer 😭. We also loved our family name written down at the front gate so you are sure it's the right place.

Only 'inconvenience' we had was having to travel up the stairs to get to the shower in the morning. As we didn't want to wake anyone up and the floor was a little squeaky. Also we found a spider in the shower. So beware. Bringing suitcases up was not pleasant I recommend anyone staying to pack light and only backpacks.

If you like mountains and a picturesque location this is the place to stay.

I've stayed here many times and each time I go I'm in awe. The location is a trek to get to but it's absolutely worth it. The view is phenomenal, the food is amazing, the service is so warm and friendly, and it's located in the perfect spot for some truly spectacular hiking. As long as you're up for sleeping on futons and a more traditional atmosphere you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the wonderful memories, we'll cherish the time we spent here forever.

- Beautiful view overlooking the mountains, and extremely quiet at night. - Amazing breakfast and dinner meals. - Owners are friendly and extremely kind!

- Not an issue for myself, but just an FYI for those squeamish about insects, in summer, there are a lot around, and some may enter inside! - Again, not an issue for myself, but another FYI: the property is a long journey if you have large luggage. After taking the cable car up the mountain, you still have to walk at least 1km uphill.

Lovely hosts! Friendly and accommodating. The check-in process was smooth. The room was clean and spacious, with a large balcony as well. The futon bed was VERY comfortable, this was probably the best night of sleep I had this trip. The dinner was excellent! Such a wide variety of dishes, and all of them delicious. Dinner needs to be reserved before 3pm of the same day, because the hosts will need time to prepare the dishes. I highly recommend doing so! I would absolutely stay here again.

A Perfect stay!

The Inn sits on a beautiful mountain side and is surrounded by nature. The owners are incredibly kind in both Japanese and English. The food was exceptional and the private bath time was a perfect ending. The walk to the inn was steep but gorgeous. Our room was quite large with beautiful windows and a patio. Yukatas were provided during our stay.Overall the entire experience was exceptional and I would happily visit again!

Amazing stay

Had an amazing 2 night stay here and it is clearly a very popular spot for foreign tourists. From here there are plenty of walks to go around: from the nearby shrine, to the more challenging mount Odake. The bathroom is shared: when you arrive you can choose an available 1 hour slot to use in private (there is also a separate shower room available if you do not wish to use the bathtub). Do recommend getting the dinner - Japanese style with lots of different dishes. Breakfast is also available in both Western or Japanese style. Would definitely stay again if ever back in the area

As a place to stay, excellent; for their advertised Shinto experiences, very disappointing.

They provided outstanding vegan breakfasts, despite this being their first time at such food. The view from the quite large room was spectacular and the staff were friendly and always helpful. And the location is very convenient for access to to both the main shrine and the walking tracks.

Their website advertises the option to participate in waterfall misogi and Shinto morning prayers, but neither of these were available. The waterfall meditation has not been available for three years they told me, even though it is still offered on their website.
