The location on the lake is indeed beautiful. Also, it is faaaar from any main road, so it is quiet at night.
The one thing a traveler needs to understand is: contrary to the name, Motel Gilau is not a motel! It is a holiday/weekend resort on the lakeside, where the staff leaves in the evening and arrives in the late morning, leaving only a night guard in between. Said night guard will give you the keys if you arrive after 21:00, but paying and leaving early in the morning is quite impossible, as the personnel does not arrive before 9:00. The standard of the rooms is acceptable, but does not match the advertising photos.
