Great value for money

Great value for money. I was doing the Dutch Mountain trail. Hotel Paseo is a 10 minute walk from where the trail finishes and starts again the next day. Friendly staff, tidy room, basic furniture, good bed, very clean. Close to supermarket and eateries.

I booked through booking.com while I was standing at the door of the hotel. Entry works on a key lockbox system. It took 2 hours for someone to get in contact with me. They apologised profusely and upgraded me to a better room. My fault for not booking earlier 😞

Good short stay just outside Uniklinik campus

Excellent location for all things related to the Uniklinik and adjacent businesses. The owner of the hotel literally went out if their way to address our concerns at 9pm.

Streetside rooms rather noisy. Room temperature set unpleasantly low. But then it’s an exceptional winter, with the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis.

This is OK if you just need a place to sleep for a night while on a journey.

This is a reasonable place to spend a night, as long as that is all you need.

It is not a hotel as such, just a building with key-code access and bedrooms. There are no other facilities. The room wasn't very big and the bathroom was small.

Very easy-going check-in. Very easy going parking place. The buses driving into Aachen city town stop just in front of the hotel's door.

Nur 20 Gehminuten oder 5 Autominuten von der Uniklinik. Supermarkt fußläufig entfernt. Kostenloses Parken am Hotel.

Frühstück war SEHR einfach: Ein paar Brötchen, eine Käsesorte, 1-2 Wurstsorten, Jogurt, keine Obst. Die gesamte Einrichtung und Matratze war sehr alt. Eine Mikrowelle gäbe es in der Küche, aber die Rezeption ist ab Spätnachmittags nicht mehr besetzt, sodass man sie nicht benutzen darf.

Angemessener Aufenthalt für 2 Nächte mit ganz leichten Abzügen in der B-Note

Das Hotel ist direkt an einer Bushaltestelle gelegen, mit der man innerhalb kurzer Zeit zum Elisenbrunnen und damit direkt in die Innenstadt gelangt. Das Zimmer ist ausreichend groß mit 2 Fenstern, die den Straßenlärm raushalten, wenn man sie schließt.

Ein paar leicht zu korrigierende Kleinigkeiten haben den Gesamteindruck ein klein wenig getrübt. Der Rauchmelder war nicht an der Zimmerdecke montiert, sondern lag etwas erhöht daneben, eine der Glühbirnen im Bad war durchgebrannt, der Toilettendeckel war nicht 100%ig fest und die Handtuch-Stange ist mir einmal entgegen gekommen. Es sind nur Kleinigkeiten, die leicht zu beheben sind und ich gehe davon aus, dass das auch gemacht wird und nicht der Standard in jedem Zimmer ist.

Wie zu Hause im familiengeführten Hotel: Einfach, angenehm, alles da.

Die Lage war optimal, ca 18 Min mit dem Bus vom HBF Aachen, 13 Min zu Fuß zum Klinikum, welches der Grund für meinen Aufenthalt dort war. Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer, das Badezimmer teilten sich mehrere Gäste, es kam aber zu keinen Warteschlangen. Beruflich übernachte ich oft in IBIS und ähnlichen Hotels, die zwar viel Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet bieten, aber doch sehr sterile Zimmer haben. Im Hotel Paseo dagegen fühlte ich mich fast wie ein Hausgast. Das Zimmer hatte Fernsehen, Wlan, Waschbecken, Schrank, Kommode, Bett und Schreibtisch, auf eine Art angeordnet, daß man sich zu Hause fühlt. Sehr liebevoll, dezent und freundlich eingerichtet, schöne Farben, wenige aber angenehm geschmackvolle Details. Vor ein paar Jahren wurde renoviert, man merkt's an den frischen Holzböden, dem modernen Badezimmer und den Kacheln am ZImmer-Waschbecken. Keine Spinnweben, kein Muff. Das Hotel hat Charakter - der spanische HIntergrund der Betreiber scheint durch, aber nicht kitschig-touristisch sondern dezent. Die Betreiber waren im Vorfeld leicht zu erreichen, unkompliziert und sehr entgegenkommend, so stellte man mir beispielsweise einen Wasserkocher zur Verfügung. Dazu liegt das Hotel in einer angenehmen Gegend, direkt dahinter sind eine Kleingartenanlage, ein freundliches Wohngebiet (80er Jahre), und dann viel Landschaft zum Spazierengehen. Ein Supermarkt ist 5 min entfernt, Restaurants gibt's auch, die Bushaltestelle zum Bahnhof ist direkt vor dem Haus. Wer die immergleichen Hotelketten satt hat, AirBnB vermeidet und trotzdem wenig Geld ausgeben will, wird sich in diesem familiengeführten Hotel mit seiner einfachen, aber dennoch komfortablen Aussstattung wohl fühlen.

Ehrlich gesagt, da fällt mir nichts ein.
