Southern Sun OR Tambo International Airport

We spent our final night in South Africa at this hotel before flying back to Singapore. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we checked in. Upon arrival, we were the first guests at the lobby, but the concierge staff did not appear welcoming or interested in assisting us. In the end, we had to wait for Ms Noxolo’s acknowledgement before proceeding further. Her explanation of the operating hours for dinner, room service, and breakfast the following day also came across as rather reluctant and unenthusiastic. During the check-in process, she forgot to hand over our room access card and did not provide clear directions on which lift to take to reach our room. As a result, we entered the wrong lift and had to rely on the bellboys, who kindly guided us to the correct one. Our room was located at the very end of the corridor on the level. The room itself was outdated and clearly requires a major refurbishment. The carpet was faded and torn, especially around the toilet door area, while the furniture appeared old and bulky. The safe box door also could not close properly and would open whenever the cupboard door was opened. Overall, the room condition was far below expectations and requires a complete overhaul. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel to our friends from Asia unless there are significant improvements in staff training, especially in customer service, along with a full refurbishment of the rooms and facilities. Must visit. Convenient location

This was our second stay at this hotel, its got everything you need. Staff are amazing and the shuttle to and from the airport is awesome. Highly recommend. We will be back soon!
