Mormoraia

The location was unbelievable and one off the best we have enjoyed in Tuscany!! Breathtaking views of San Gimignano from the resort and its only minutes away. Staff was excellent! Food was unbelievably good!!! We have stayed at numerours high-end resorts in Italy, and Mermoraia ranks at the top with them.

Nothing at all. Well ok, if I need to find one thing...I wish they had blueberries for breakfast.

The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the location is beautiful with amazing views, the air con works well (most of the time), breakfast is generally very good. Beds were comfy and it’s really close to San Giminagno and lots of places to visit and things to do. The pool is a good length for swimming and there’s a hammock between some trees for chilling out.

Breakfast went downhill each day (although it started very well), fewer choices available. The staff in the restaurant were extremely rude and dismissive and disinterested, to the extent we chose not to have dinner despite the food looking good. The hotel prides itself on being a peaceful, tranquil place to escape but there’s nothing tranquil about people on FaceTime at breakfast or scrolling TikTok out loud by the pool. Not the hotels fault but they also fail to ask people to take it elsewhere as to not spoil other guests experience. Likewise people parking cars in two spaces under the limited shaded part so you have to park your car under the sun, also not managed by the hotel. There’s also no bin in the bedroom. We did give this feedback to the reception staff upon departure too who seemed grateful for it, and I’m sure with just a few tweaks it could be a really wonderful place.

We would have appreciated clearer information about local transportation options and potential limitations in the area. More guidance on transport logistics would be helpful for future guests.
