the friendly helpful staff were so lovely. we enjoyed the onsen, both the public and family ones. we had a wonderful stay here, it was the perfect location after a four day walk. the food was excellent@

The room was spacious for one person. The bedding was comfortable. Public and private onsen(hot springs) are provided. I only tried the private though. The food was amazing. Every staff member I met was friendly. The coin laundry was quite cheap and efficient. It even provided a free massage chair for the guest. During check-in, the reception also confirm your plan next day to make sure if your breakfast time could meet the schedule, and if they need to arrange a shuttle service to the bus stop for you.

Nothing really. The only thing I could think about is probably the location. There’s a bus stop just for the hotel, however you still have to walk about 3-5minutes uphill from the stop. And also the main Onsen area is the next stop which is about 15min walk according to google map , and it’s a road for vehicles without pedestrian access if I remember correctly. Therefore for my schedule, I didn’t really have a chance to take a look and get the the stamp from the shrine in the main Onsen area. But for others who plan well, I think it’s not a big problem.

Large ryokan located not far from Yunominae Onsen but outside the town. Good option when limited stays on the Kumano Kodo trail. Dinner was very good. Rooms are pretty if dated.
