The hotel is pretty far for us, as we don’t know how to ride scooter, but after we have discovered a nice restaurant on the beach at 1,8 km from the hotel we decided not to go further. The restaurant name is Ganash and it’s amazing. In regards to the hotel, the beach is not amazing, but the hotel is exceptional! We took Mali villa with ocean view and i can say it was magnificent. The hotel personnel is the nicest I even encounter! We stayed here the last 5 days in Thailand and wanted to rest and this is the perfect spot to rest. Hotel is very clean and our room was cleaned every day while we were at breakfast. I definitely recommend this place! 🩷🩷🩷🩷

My adult daughter and I had a lovely stay here. Staff is lovely and very helpful in arranging transport and activities. Food is quite good and the dining room which is open is lovely. It is very quiet. The swing over the water is quite nice.

I think the price you pay for a hotel sets your expectations and this one was fairly pricey, comparable with another hotel I was staying at previously in Koh Lanta which was luxurious. Banyan bay definitely wasn’t that. If it had pitched itself as a home stay I would have been happy. It was shabby and grubby and a lot of things didn’t work. The bungalow was on the beach and it was lovely to hear the waves at night. The beach itself was rocky and stoney and the sea wasn’t that lovely clear blue colour you associate with Thailand. The pool was fine but not used by people, maybe all the sand in the bottom put them off. The reception place was also the restaurant and breakfast area. The breakfast was fine but again incomparable with other places of a similar price. The other food was actually very nice but about three times the price of restaurants on Koh Jum. You certainly weren’t paying for luxurious surroundings. There was nothing else there so hiring a motorbike is a must. I can’t ride a bike so I walked to other places. There was a lovely beach about a half an hours walk away and restaurants there too. There was another restaurant a similar distance away in the other direction where the food was fabulous and cheap. I have to say the staff were so welcoming and helpful. When I mentioned the hairdryer didn’t work another one was provided immediately. I didn’t mention the other things. One thing which clearly couldn’t be rectified was the room lock. That had long since broken and had been replaced with a padlock on the outside. That was fine but you weren’t able to lock yourself in at night. It was literally in the middle of nowhere so the chances of somebody coming in at night were vanishingly small, but as a solo female traveller I felt vulnerable.
