Amazing property and location. Great staff

Everyone at the castello was generous. We arrived late to the property causing us to miss our winery tour and dinner. They accommodated us by pushing our dinner back, even allowing us time to change and get ready first. They offered to give us a tour the next day but we did not have anytime unfortunately. Dinner and breakfast was lovely, the food, wine, staff and pianist made our night. The property itself is gorgeous, idyllic, my only regret is not having more time to spend there.

Awesome location

It is a unique experience to spend at least a night in this location. The room we stayed in was huge, clean and decorated with good taste, keeping the ancient atmosphere. It features a kitchenette in case of need. The infinity pool has breathtaking views and it's a perfect relaxation location.

It's a pity the swimming pool is not heated, but also understandable for the region, as not quite needed normally. Still, the 18 degrees water temperature in the late October days was a bit too challenging, still.

Beautiful villa, just built and opened several months ago. Family run, owners were very kind and accommodating. They stocked up our villa with milk, eggs, coffee, a complementary bottle of their signature, wine, and other treats. The villa was well outfitted with all the essentials for cooking and enjoying a very long stay.

Everything was truly wonderful however while our villa was part of the Castello Vicciomaggio property, we were not made to feel free to explore the main building and garden areas or use the amenities which was a bit disappointing.

Perfect spot in Tuscany for wine and relaxation

Stunning location, very easy to drive to/from and do day trips to towns nearby in the Chianti region. Staff were very friendly and the room was very spacious and clean. Our favourite part was the location and view from the outdoor restaurant and from the room.

Bloody lovely

Amazing and absolutely beautiful.

The location was a little isolated and getting a taxi was impossible the night we wanted to go out. This of course is not the hotels fault. Our honesty box was sold out of crisps when asking the staff to refill they said they were sold out. However another honesty bar was found and there was mountains of crisps.

The castle villa and grounds are exceptionally beautiful even above and beyond what you would expect in Chianti , Tuscany. Delicious on site restaurant and incredibly nice and helpful staff made our stay all the more beautiful. We were the first to stay in one of their recently renovated self sufficient holiday villas. In short, beautiful, clean, quiet and 360 views to die for.

They wouldn’t let me move in permanently. Seriously, there wasn’t a thing I would change.

Great for a day trip, but not longer

It’s a beautiful Castello. Having dinner there and wine tour was very nice.

It’s not clear on Booking we are gonna be in 2 separate buildings on the opposite sides with lots of stairs, keys and locks in between. I would not recommend it for kids and older people. AC was also not working in one of the rooms and it was unbearable night for us and our small child on 40 degrees. Sorting the transfer to new rooms was quite unpleasant due to some rude remarks from staff that treated the situation as very annoying for them. No one helped us with 5 pieces of luggage moving up and down for 2 days with 2 older people and a small child. Overall you can come here and enjoy a lovely dinner or tour but you can get much higher value for money in villas around.

Beautiful setting with quality accommodation

Beautiful setting high up in Chianti hills looking down over the valley. Decor is lovely in the rooms, extremely comfortable bed and beautiful windows that incorporated mozzie netting and shutters that gave us total blackout in the bedroom. We had a large terrace attached to our room with loungers and table and chairs. We stayed in the annexe, where there was a large communal area, honesty bar and comfortable seating area plus large table and chairs for the use of guests (saved a walk to the castle for a drink). Plenty of other little seating areas dotted around the grounds. The lunchtime and evening meals were served al fresco on the terrace. Great service and food with a lovely view. During the evening small lights started to come on throughout the garden - it was so pretty. The pool area was generous and the pool was a good size infinity pool overlooking the valley. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, and pool towels and a bag provided in the room.

Breakfast was a pretty miserable affair, indoors and rooms a bit gloomy. You needed to get there early if you wanted hot food - it ran out very quickly and wasn’t replaced on the days we were there. I would not recommend this for anyone with mobility problems. There are a lot of steps everywhere starting with the long walk from the car park to main area.

Amazing view and great service.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The whole place was spotless. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was full and varied and high quality of products coffee was truly Italian. Views are amazing!!

Historic property, breathtaking pool, otherwise average.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights as we had a friend's wedding near Certaldo. Very friendly and helpful staff. The main building (the castello) was beautiful. The reception and dining areas were within this building and the guest rooms were in another newer building nearby. The pool was breathtaking - the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Lots of families there during our stay, so it was noisy with kids playing which we hadn't expected. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fine, nothing standout, but convenient when arriving late. The room was clean and quite spacious. Good water pressure.

The breakfast buffet is located inside in a stuffy dining room, and during our stay breakfast was not refilled regularly. Not enough staff for the number of guests. We carried our breakfast outside which was much better, though we had to walk back inside (aout 40m) to order coffee etc. The breakfast was average. To move between areas of the hotel required 3 different keys to open different locked gates, including 3 locked doors to get from the parking lot to the room. This got annoying if you had to go back to the room for something. There was an 'honesty bar' which included cocktails and wine, though no ice was available. The property is fairly remote so it's at least a 20 minute drive to any other nearby town.

The property was stunning. The rooms were just as nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. The food and wine was amazing. Do yourself a favor and eat there for lunch and dinner!

We should have booked all of our taxis in advance- very expensive and difficult to get some last minute.

Amazing place!

Where to begin! This property is gorgeous and right in the middle of the Chianti area. The view from every angle of the property is breath taking and the staff was super amazing. It felt like we were staying in heaven on earth. We did the wine tasting with food paring and it was 👌 Will definitely go back. Hopefully soon!
