Castello Vicchiomaggio

Stunning property set in the hills of Grieve in Chianti. The property was been meticulously cared for, and has everything you need on site, including a wonderful infinity pool and restaurant.

The only improvements I would suggest is laundry facility / or the ability to request laundry on site.

Our room was exquisite. We had an apartment in the castle portion of the hotel. I could hardly go to sleep because I was so enamored with the experience within the property. It was the second time we have come and booked at your hotel for this dinner of music and wine tastings. It was by far the most romantic evening of our two weeks in Italy. We love to end it with you all at your beautiful property and with your exquisite wines and staff.

There’s nothing we didn’t like, but we were disappointed, that this time, there were no candelabras on the tables, but rather LED lights. It did take a little bit away from the experience that we had the first time… but we would do it again 💝 easily, and we will recommend it to others.

Beautiful property and very nice staff.

It’s a beautiful Castello. Having dinner there and wine tour was very nice.

It’s not clear on Booking we are gonna be in 2 separate buildings on the opposite sides with lots of stairs, keys and locks in between. I would not recommend it for kids and older people. AC was also not working in one of the rooms and it was unbearable night for us and our small child on 40 degrees. Sorting the transfer to new rooms was quite unpleasant due to some rude remarks from staff that treated the situation as very annoying for them. No one helped us with 5 pieces of luggage moving up and down for 2 days with 2 older people and a small child. Overall you can come here and enjoy a lovely dinner or tour but you can get much higher value for money in villas around.
